  1. I saw this last night in 3D. If you watch this movie and want to compare it to the original 1977 Star Wars, then you may be disappointed. How can anyone duplicate that feeling many had as kids when they first saw this classic? That original good guy/bad guy story, set in space, was one of a kind. If, however, you just want an escape from reality for about 2 1/2 hours, mixed with more humor than usually found in the Star Wars series, then you could find this an enjoyable experience. I don't see too many movies these days, but I was glad I took the family to see this one.
  2. Tim, Thanks for taking all the time and effort to set this up and give everyone a good time. My totally off the wall guess is an even $800.00
  3. Careful now.... This is a "family friendly" site.
  4. Thank you, sir. I am certain it would be well cared for and loved in either of our collections. It would have no fear of being uprooted, flipped, or "restored ".
  5. Harold, my friend, I could not agree with you more. That 1.5 would look great in any collection (especially mine).
  6. I would rather a universal 3.0 (probably even lower). There is just no telling how much of that book is "real". If I take a single staple or page from an original AC1 and recreate the rest, do I really own an AC1??? i would like before and after photos of "restored" books, much like you often see with restored cars.
  7. Soft Serve did not have a 56 in his "end of the planet" sales thread. I was hoping he did as I would have loved to get another copy. My favorite cover in the run. Congrats on grabbing this one.
  8. I only saw it because I clicked on Harold's link in this thread.
  9. I wouldn't mind tucking that into my collection either, but I am rather certain it will be cost prohibitive.
  10. Harold, I believe that book has had more than a little work done to it. Looks like it was printed yesterday.
  11. For me, Peter, I am just hoping to add more to my collection in 2018, then I did in 2017 (which was relatively slow for me). I definitely intend to BUY more than I SELL. Of course, for me that doesn't take much, as I am not a seller. I buy and collect. I hope you have a wonderful 2018 and maybe find a TEC 27 for your already awesome collection.
  12. I hate when that happens. You think a book is complete and then discover something like that. Still an awesome cover, however!
  13. Agreed!!! That is about as beat up and ragged as they come, however, twmjr1 simply said it needed to be complete. This book was not only complete, but "unrestored".
  14. It was a private sale. Not an auction. I can show you a photo if you want.
  15. A copy sold last year for $110K. Don't think that copy would sell for $200K today. IMO.
  16. I am thinking absolute lowest possible condition is at lest $125K (possibly $150K), but I could be way off. Would like Gator to weigh in on this as he has a good thumb on the market.
  17. It did not "meet reserve" I think it topped out at $177K (not positive)
