Doesn’t matter what you offer or tell him about, he doesn’t really want to buy any Doom Patrol art. I offered him mine and he said he was ONLY buying Case art, despite the fact that he says in his original post that he will buy any artists’ work.

Oh well, i was just trying to be polite. I don't like your page.

Anyway  I was looking for someone who wants to sell or trade, while you contracted me saying "i never considered selling, but i am open to offers".

    Have a nice day.

DP #21 cover from Morrison's initial arc.

Awesome pages but definitely not cheap.

thanks for the heads up, but I already knew what was available for sale on CAF.

Hopefully someone with a page or a cover, will read this topic and will contact me!

    Ciao!

  3. Hello folks,

I am looking to add to my collection a nice example from Grant Morrison's run on the Doom Patrol.

Any artist is fine for me, but preferably Case. Favorite caracther Crazy Jane. But I will consider anything.

A Bisley cover would be a grail. And a bolland cover...

Hit me up, payments in cash are immediate.

We can discuss trades, if you want, with high profile pages.

    here is my CAF.

    cheers, Luca

  4. Hello folks,

I don't know if you are familiar with this European masterpiece (there is a movie out there too), but the first 44 pages have been actioned online at Sotheby's more or less two weeks ago; unfortunately I haven't been able to get any of these pages, but I still feel the urge to add one of them to my collection.

Do you know the GN? Have you followed the auction? Have you, by any chance, purchased more than one page and need to raise some money in order to fund a new acquisition?

Drop me a line! I am interested either in buying or trading!

    Luca

  5. Hello folks,

I have been lazy enough not to update my CAF gallery for some months. One nice Mignola HB cover is gone, but I just got a BPRD cover by Mike himself (featuring the whole cast), a wonderful Hellboy page by Corben and a sexy pin up by Gennadiy Koufay (I would love to have more infos about him).

As usual I wrote some rants on CAF, in case you wanna loose a couple of minutes.

  6. I am am avid sandman collector and death is my favourite character; personally I have never seen a page from issue 8 for sale. Maybe it's just me, but I know every bits of the issue and I remember fondly that page and how shocked I was when Franklin was killed. I live in Italy, so I don't have any love for NY.

Having said that, I'd kill for that page. Dream and Death, first issue of the big sister, dringenberg, signed by Neil. The cornerstone of the whole series, when everything changed and sandman became sandman.

Ps: the most famous page from the entire issue is the one where the brothers feed the pigeons. Boring, talking heads and  not even the first first appearance. I just wonder how much it would fetch if auctioned.

This would be a dream come true. A great page from sandman #8, first appearance of the older sister.

At first I thought it would sell for 50+, now I think we can be close to 100 (considering the first appearance of Lucifer on comicconnect is priced as 90 BIN).

I wish I had the money.

Spoiler alert: Franklin dies the page after.

You pretty much got the collage elements in panels 3 and 5 right. They appear to be photocopies glued to the panel. The V in the last panel looks like original art to me as the gray tone doesn’t match the tone in the collage elements.

“Matted out” means it has a matte ready for framing, but HA is primarily using it to describe the size of the “art.” According to their description it is the matte that is fading. However, if ambient light was able to fade the matte, I would expect that the live area of the art be a different tone than the margins if you removed the matte.

thank you for the kind reply, that explains everything.

Is somebody is interested in a Sandman/Mignola piece and wants to get me this V for Vendetta page, I am open to any kind of discussion. My CAF link is in the previous thread.

  9. Good morning people,

I have noticed there is a V for Vendetta page on HA that I might be interested into, but the description is very cryptic to an Italian mother tongue.

    1) the page is "matted out". Does it mean it's glued to the matte, or that the light exposure yellowed the part exposed to the sun (which means the page is yellow and then, the part underneath the matte, is white)?

    2) "collage elements" means photocopies? From my point of view, the answer is positive. It seems the nazis, the atomic explosion (with V standing) are not original art. What about the V in the last panel?

Anyway I still dig the page but don't have enough funds right now to purchase it straigh away, so I am considerin trading some Sandman art (not the Kelley Jones) or Mignola in order to get the V page. If someone wants to discuss a possible deal, drop me a line. Here is my CAF https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=47928

    Ciao

  10. Hello folks,

I am delighted to show you my new Mignola cover - I would like to thank the seller for being so patient with me, giving me time to raise the funds.

    Congrats!

My single purchase from CC was extremely positive too, they were great with the payment/shipping process as well.

Their site has improved. If they have something I want, I'd definitely try em again.

Me too. Had one experience with heritage too, which ended up positively, but it took me a lot of effort to get what I wanted (the page shipped to another address of mine in the US and not here in Italy) and have them cancel the delay fee because I didn't pay on time while I was waiting for them to help me through shipping.

My problems with Comiconnect are mostly the lack of things they have had that I wanted to buy. Comiclink and Heritage have been better on that score. Also, the interface isn’t good. But, you found something you like a lot, and that’s the most important thing.

I see your point. I remember reading someone complaining about other (more serious) things, not only the bad interface or the lack of interesting items (this is based on personal tastes).

  13. Not many sandman pages sell on auction, true. I remember one by dringenberg sold on Hakes a year ago and one by hempel on clink some months ago. A zulli splash (unsold) on eBay.

Privately things are easier. An important Spanish collector just sold two prime Kelley Jones pages from season of mists with  "a lot of dream" in the last weeks. I have had for sale some pages in the last year and not all them were sold.

Abert Is selling pages from issue one without dream for 9/10K. The 25k page has a drawing of dream wearing the mask.

31k for that page still sounds crazy.
