  1. True, most were less than 1/8, these three were easiest to show the damage. I may have been hoping for 100 9.8's.
  2. Agree, I certainly did not pay that for mine, You could buy them direct from the Pini's for @100 ish not too terribly long ago. Elfquest have always held a close part of my heart so always bought them and Gi Joe when at shows for next to nothing. Although in my experience 9.8 is tough, only had 1 out of all the copies I have owned. Stil have it.
  3. Giving how well books are doing on CL right now, I suspect it breaks 13K as well.
  4. Good Morning all, I bought some old distributor inventory several years ago. In it were super random books in bulk but a few bundles were in my wheel house. Mostly GI Joe. I bought several issues still banded together so they had never been touched as I cut the bands (I think it was 50 per band but honestly do not recall) myself. They only had one band around them so I never even paid attention to the top edge. The top couple copies and bottom copies have band impressions on the spines but the middle copies were mint. I was getting some ready to go to CGC and noticed what looked like a bindery tear at the top of close to 45 copies. What would these grade at? And is this considered a factory flaw? The top copy pretty much represents the condition of that stack and the pic of the three out of bags shows the varying degrees of damage up top. Not a huge deal as these books were not worth anything until about two weeks ago but if I do not grade them and decide to grade them I was curious if this is factory and limited or do they take the hit as if they were torn. So what would you guys consider the top copy? Scan included of a copy with the tear.
  5. Fantasy Quarterly #1 has been on fire in 9.6 and 9.8. I was thinking of grabbing an undercopy on CL and was blown out of the water so, I think their time is coming as well.
  6. Based on a few auctions I have been in, I think they already have that program. I had one "well no one will bid this much" bid placed, then immediate outbid notice....
  7. My cousin an I are outcasts, we do not hunt, fish or own multiple boats.
  8. I feel like you just described some of my kin folk..
  9. The video game prices broke it, I was watching live when it crashed, The automated auctioneer was talking all over himself with how fast the bids were coming in.
  10. Send me their addresses and me and a friend will ride bicycles to their houses and ask what their future plans are.
  11. Very true, I was pointing out more of the "Wow these go for this now?" "Glad I bought this last summer" "Can't believe this book is still going up". What was interesting especially when I mentioned it, it was the same 3-4 boardies stepping in and giving their two cents. Meanwhile those books did sell but you had people quoting those phrases with their own input on how much smarter they were than the potential buyer by buying a year ago. I think the "great seller", "awesome books" etc seem to create a positive thread. I just thought it was odd, but agree if the seller has no issue with then we shouldn't either.
  12. Also that book almost always has rusted staples for some reason, I have bought a ton of that book only to be disappointed when opening the centerfold to see rust. 9.8 looking books get slammed to 7.0. And agree when people figure out it is in front of Usagi 1 they will jump on it. I noticed a known IG seller keeps pushing Usagi 1 as the first solo book and people jump right on it.
  13. Why in the world is the Thing covered on the new Labels? I like the new labels personally but would also want to see all 4 of them.
  14. It really is, I know people can jump on GPA and find a positive trend, but copies just sit and sit on Ebay, the 5.0 on CL seemed like a really good buy to me at $4800 (gpa is even trending up for that grade). It had that chip at the corner but the spine looked like a 8.0 or better and was OW, which for that book should have drawn a premium. I was thinking of going harder after it due to those two things but felt the time may be now on a couple other books due to the market and can circle back to it.
