  1. Classic Eisner book I picked up cheap at Wonder Con last year on a whim. It doesn't disapoint!
  2. OK, it's that time of year when our minds start thinking of spring. The days get longer, the flowers blooming, girls wearing less clothing and America's pastime. So, in honor of Spring Training, I thought I'd post some baseball stuff. Batter up! I got the first 5 issues of this book from the "Paul" collection. All were marked except for this one which is my favorite.
  3. No hurry Gary. Just when you get the time! Seems like you've been the lucky finder of more than one nice collection...
  4. Dang! You had to go show that. I was hoping to have a shot at that. Oh well, guess I'll have to pony up if I want it now...
  5. Wow! What a box lot! It's taken me years to get that many Bakers and you hit the mother load. Some scarce books in that pile too.
  6. That's a nice My Life. I think I have a beater of it. Then again aren't most of these Fox books very hard to find nice?
  7. Sorry, I just HAD to do it... Now mine took a lot longer than one trip to the mail box to assemble but just some great books. A lot of good reading there. Hope you are enjoying your copies!
  8. Well, I looked and looked and can't find the Canada issue of that book. It is called Lucky Coyne. It is slightly larger than the US version and b/w interior reprint of this book with a green background instead of blue. I looked in the horror boxes, I looked in the Crime boxes and I looked in misc GA and could not find it. And no, I don't have a Canada box! When it turns up and I know it will, I'll post it here.
  9. Calling Moondog! Can you give us the lowdown on the Guy Holcombe collection? Would love to hear the details and what what was in it.
  10. Flea markets sucked today. That's how it goes. I had such a good day last week. They don't happen like that often. This the 4th Sunday and there are two very small antique flea markets. I often score at one that I go to where I have no competition but came up empty this time. There was rain in the forecast so it probably kept some sellers away. Anyway, here is a nice group of horror books to tickle your optic nerve. Since the weather was a little dicey, I took some photos and should have come cool stuff for you in the next few weeks.
  11. Wow Cat, that is one awsome funny book! It's really a shame that slight cleaning gets it a 9.2 plod. I would kill to have a copy even close to that shape no matter what color the tomb says.
  12. And Mitch, I haven't forgotton your request. Here is Johnny Danger #1 with a couple good panels. A kind of overlooked crime book I think.
  13. And while we are Crack-a-Jackin, here is the Gabby Scoops membership card from 1941. Only one I've ever seen.
  14. Nice book! I think these are a little under appreciated. I don't know much if anything about the Guy Holcomb collection. Can anybody fill me in on the back story? In the meantime, here is a Crack-a-jack Funnies #25 1940. (First Owl and Gabby Scoops)
  15. Welcome to the boards! I just joined up a couple months ago and have had a good time here. Very knowledgeable and friendly group of people!
  16. Isn't GS Xmen the big bronze key like Action 1 for GA or Showcase 4 for SA?
  17. Cool book and pretty hard to find. I'm not a huge fan of Friction House superhero stuff though. Stories are a little weak. I'm much more into the very slightly later GGA bondage ect stuff...
  18. Got a big pile of 'em but you will really have to wave your guide hard and whine loud to get any.
  19. One more I found in my bucket. Like the Cookvilles and the "Pauls", Eldon is just another well marked collection. Only one I think I have. I don't see too many of them and don't have any huge love. Just like to have an example of all the known pedigrees and well known "collections"
  20. I picked this up at Terry's show a couple of years ago. Was thrilled to find an affordable copy and even more thrilled that the seller had no idea it was a Cookville!
