  1. Yeah, common knowledge. Hey, whatever floats your boat as long as it doesn’t hurt anybody else. But what a couple of funky looking broads...
  2. Wow, that sure beats Bob Wood of Crime Does Not Pay fame...
  3. Picked this up at an antique shop yesterday. I knew about the Archie Club but was unaware of this teen comic book club!
  4. Stuff that just flies out of the booth. Old advertising with great color and graphics. Tins and especially signs. Universal monsters, pre-1970 Disneyland stuff, Slot Cars and Hot Wheels. Old sports memorabilia especially Baseball. Trophies, equipment, photos, toys ect. Being in CA, any vintage skateboards or surfing stuff. Classic vehicle toys. Especially motorcycles and house trailers. I am always surprised what people pick up and buy. Comic book wise, a little of everything including western and Dells. The flipper kids drift in asking for “keys” and hoping for garage sale prices. But a lot of people just looking for readers from their youth. I don’t usually bring much if any in the way of big keys or nice GA unless someone I think might actually buy it asks me. I sell a lot of affordable comics, MADS and pulps. Me and my partner are usually the only ones to have any of this stuff out there. Most of my customers are mostly looking for the other stuff so that is primarily what I bring.
  5. Nice Gino! Funny about books like this. Some are so tough that a lot of us lust over “a mere 3.0”... Yours presents very well. Congrats!
  6. Where were you man? Ron kept looking up and down the isle for you...
  7. OK, you did say Comedy... I know quite a few folks looking for stuff like this one.
  8. I like this particular book. The GGA is awsome, the horror conotation is wild. The Zodiac angle doesn't even figure into the equation as why I would like to have one. But, due to the hype, I will probably have to "get lucky" now.
  9. Those Tim Holts are all "horrorable"...
  10. Assembled by a guy that was accused later in life of being a serial killer in the Pacific Northwest. Google it...
  11. The Green River SA collection has a similar connotation to me. I don’t own any...
  12. Wow, great story! We should all be so lucky... That Corgi Mini Cooper Countryman Surfer vehicle is off the hook! I have never seen one. It wouldn't be leaving my junk house if I turned up one. Would bring BIG bucks I would imagine here in SO CA. I have had a lot of Corgis, Dinkys and Matchbox vehicles over the years. Most I have parted with but I doe still have a fair amount of them. Many years ago, I went to a closing on a toy store in Pasadena, CA. They had lots of back stock they were blowing out rel cheap. I picked up a few Batman cars, A Green Hornet Black Beauty, A Monkees car and several others all boxed and old store stock. I think this is the last one I hung on to.
  13. If you are talking Hitler covers (this is the Hitler thread), they seem to have been pretty well defined and accounted for. If you are talking WWII covers in general, good luck. That spans a TON of books in all genres. I don't even think one could use the Gerber book and count because there are so many not in there. Most people concentrate on the superhero ones, but it seems like all genres had them. It's a task, I wouldn't want to take on...
  14. And then there is this mail away premium from Tip Top Comics circa late '30's. Same character?
  15. Beautiful books! Really love the black, night time cover on the single series. Here's another cool one.
  16. Yeah, I'm of the school of thought that almost any copy is better than no copy at all on books like this. I'd rather have this one, than waiting for a nicer copy that might never come along again. One of my biggest regrets was about 10 years ago passing on a Suspense #3 for a similar reason. It had a pretty rough spine, some chipping on the edges and missing some pages. Price $1,200. Presented well though. I went back and forth on it and passed. As soon as I handed it back, Ritchie Munchin, who was lurking behind me snatched it and paid full price. I knew then and there, that I had probably missed my chance of ever owning a copy... I have bought low grade books and upgraded many of them and perhaps, one day, this one will also be upgraded. In the meantime, perhaps Gino or some other lucky boardie will post a copy that we can see all the great cover on it...
  17. About a month away... Is it possible, like last year, to buy advance tickets on line? Got a link?
  18. That is except for the large logo More Funs with Spectre and Dr Fate covers. I keep waiting to see those get cheap and out of favor...
  19. Any of these could be yours Pop... I do have two of the Felix games and both versions of the Screwball MAD MAD MAD game. (this one is a dupe too). I went from having one incomplete Capt. Marvel puzzle a couple years ago to now having three. Would love to trade one for a Superman one I don't have. I only have one Milkman game though. This is it and it is for sale... The real prize of that photo is the large 1930's Indian Motorcycle patch. Got some tire kickers, but ending up bringing it home.
  20. Yep, sad indeed. That place was off the hook. I got many great books from Bert as a kid. I rarely got past the boxes in the hall...
