What makes you decide wether or not to attend a particuler event
Robot Man replied to Golden Memories's topic in Comic Events
Exhibitors list is critical. I go primarily to buy comics. The older the better. If I don't see any or any I recognize, I usually pass. I pass on a lot of shows because of this. I recently went to a small local show. Out of 40 or so dealers, there turned out to be only 3 with any older stuff. I bought 4 books from 3 dealers. I also found an older guy with lots of older stuff. Big Little Books, Pulps, Premiums and old comic character pinback buttons. I found a button that is rare as heck. Turned out to be worth my time, gas and a $5. admission. -
If you want grusome horror cheap, and you have a foot fetish, maybe try hunting down some of comic book's poor step children..

At that price? Are you crazy? All kidding aside, cool book and with a tough cert to boot. Congrats to buyer and seller! -
Yeah, I think I read about them somewhere. They sound like a bunch of pirates. I still wonder if anyone has tried to put a list together of them.
-
Thanks for posting these. It's great to know what is in them as they seem so random. A lot of the covers seem new as well. Some are re-used with different logos and different contents.

Good to see you back here Bill. Don't be a stranger. I'm still finding "Paul" books out here!

Read those MADs Raze! They are a lot of fun and well worth picking up. Prices have come down a lot on them and they are pretty available. You should be able to find a #21 pretty easy. Here is the earliest depection of Alfred E Neuman I can come up with. It is a paperweight from turn of the century. There is a calendar that I've seen a couple of times with the same image. This is the only paperweight I know of.

Maybe, maybe not. It’s his book. He can ask whatever he wants. Low form coming in here and making a comment like that. If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it. Maybe you should go over to Facebook or Instagram and insult somebody there “dude”... -
Some cool ones being posted. Do us a favor though. If can list what is inside, it would be good to know. Some, like the Avons maybe had a sci-fi-fi cover with a different title. Some had totally different contents. These seem to be real random in the way they were produced.

No offense Callaway, but aren’t you just “shooting yourself in the foot” by putting up a thread like this? Prices are through the roof on stuff like this already. Why make it worse? Great choice by the way.

Read ‘em. I read this one this morning. Very fun read indeed. Took a while too. 52 pages of fun. Wouldn’t pay much for any but would buy another cheap. They seem to have a lot of cool covers as well.

Wanna get some Feldstein classic GGA on the cheap? Another oddity. An Avon Penny cover with logo changed and a Fox Sunny interior.
