  1. Bought this from Teddy at WonderCon several years ago. Is it beat? Of course. I dug it out of a box. Thought it was way overpriced but had never seen one. I quickly found out how wrong I was when several dealers and seasoned collectors had said how rare it was and wanted to pay me way more than I spent on it. Haven’t seen another copy since to upgrade it. Proud to have it.
  2. Been a while since I got a Four Favorite but one walked up to me today. Always great to get one of these!
  3. Tim Holt #30 seems to be trending. Nice cover but come on now...
  4. Set up at the Flea today. Great weather, lots of happy customers. Kids with their dads. Man, my feet hurt though!
  5. Probably the best lyrics ever in a rock song. He’s before my time too but sometimes opening your mind opens doors...
  6. I see a lot of stuff missing from these lists but I’m not telling. Too hard to find the ones I want already...
  7. Wow, what a Ghastly trio of Ghoulantics! Congrats! I will see your sixes and raise you seven. After all the only thing better than having these 3 is having them all!
  8. I'm generally not a big fan of a lot of Dells nor this character, but I just LOVE this cover. So mysterious. Great colors and perspective. Really makes you want to read it. I bought this slabbed because I mainly only wanted the cover. It was also SO cheap. Everytime I look at it now I keep thinking I need to find a low grade reader.
  9. NEVER apologize for the condition of a great book like that! One of MANY classic Crime Suspense covers. Everybody loves #22 (and I do to) but I think this is my favorite. Just gets right down to business. Everything about is so shocking. I can't imagine seeing this on a newstand next to Superman, Little Lulu or Capt. Marvel. My mom was pretty cool but she would (or tell my dad to) tan my hide if she caught me with this.
  10. Outstanding find! I bought that when it came out new. I had a few ECs my uncle gave me and had run into a few more in my travels so I knew what I was getting into. What really grabbed me was the cover! Wow, so creepy and weird. I had no idea it was a TFTC cover but once I found out I was on the hunt until I found one. One of my favorite EC covers!
  11. Oh, don't lie to us Eric. You want them ALL just like we all do. Once your have tasted the Kool Aid...
  12. One will come my way when I least expect it. Yeah, John Carter is a good one I don't have either. Here are some super rare Pan Am Gasoline premiums. Got 'em all from the same lady and haven't seen them since...
  13. So nice! One I don't have nor have I ever seen for sale either. I was lucky enough to snag this one from Harley at Terry's show a few years ago for what I thought was actually a very good price. Haven't seen one since...
  14. Sometimes books like that you just have to buy and try to find a better one later...
  15. One I’ve never landed. A big hole in my collection. Just slipped under the radar. I think I still have a little time but I better hurry.
  16. You get a lot more girls with a nice panel truck than a comic book... And I work on my own toys.
  17. Best line I ever waited in was The Rolling Stones 1972 Exile on Mainstreet tour at the Hollywood Paliadium. The Stones at their peak (google it). Spent the night waiting for Ticketron to open with about a hundred people. What a party. The cops came by and just looked the other way. Made a lot of friends that night and nearly everyone got their tickets!
  18. I would think that it should have an effect on the grade. It didn’t leave the printing plant that way. All givens the same say both grade at say 9.4. One has spray and one doesn’t, which copy would you rather have? It isn’t resto but it also isn’t a production error. I have the same problem with mid wrapped covers but that is another discussion...
  19. As a kid I remember lining up outside of a record store to buy a new Beatles album or concert tickets but not for a comic book...
  20. By the way, I was looking at a fairly nice restored 1941 Chevy Panel Truck Hot Rod yesterday for only a couple grand more than this comic book...
  21. It’s been a while since I looked at my copy and I don’t have it handy, but I believe it does. Great under rated Crime title!
  22. A nice book with a cool cover but not top of the heap Atlas horror wise to me. It has had a huge spike in popularity recently due to it being a “sleeper” for so long. That combined with a black cover in beautiful shape and a River City to boot is probably responsible. I agree though, that is a bit insane. It is hard to come to grips with sometimes and often astonishes when I see numbers like this on books that just a few years ago were pretty reasonable. Sure glad a got a decent copy...
