Garth Ennis's 'The Boys' the next Ennis series for TV!?
Lpgk replied to Mr 9.8's topic in The Movie Forum
I was ok with most parts of AMCs Preacher, but agreed. If it went on Amazon, they probably would've had even more free reign to do what they wanted. -

I'm surprised you got even half. I've heard horror stories of HO policies where one guy's collection was $100K and they paid him $1500. Others where they amount was capped at $1000, regardless of value. All things considered could've been worse -

The slab is in a bag, so any imperfections are the bag itself. The slab is basically perfect. -

I can't speak for Power Rangers or Ghostbusters, but I believe the heads between Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black and GI Joe are somewhat interchangeable. There might be slight size differences, but I believe they all use the same general size. -

I was curious about Hector's situation so I contacted CIS. When I got my policy, the agent told me in no uncertain terms, they do not cover storage facilities, at all. Now, I have an email from them, saying yes they do cover storage but it has to be a named location. They didn't mention anything about any premium increase. -

Who in their right mind would send money sight unseen to a person you never met before. And you'd have no recourse to get it back. In poker, that's called a naked bluff, a bluff with no real teeth behind it. -

This is one of those instances where whipping out the money would see how straight he is. If someone took out $7K or whatever in front of me. I'm pretty sure all well crafted stories like this $3500 deposit, would instantly disappear. -
I thought of this as he was in the ocean. Wouldn't he leave puddles everywhere he went. I'm sure even the dumbest Trooper would probably a trail of water everywhere.

If I didn't exercise or work out in 10 years and suddenly someone asks you to foot race them, it's doubtful you're going to look like Tyreek Hill out there. He's supposed to be old and decrepit.

Lpgk replied to fastballspecial's topic in Comics General
Is this a homeowner's/renters policy or specialized collecitbles insurance? Interesting that they offer storage coverage insurance for a modest premium. I use Collectibles Insurance Group and they were very specific that they do not cover storage facilities. Also, all covered locations must be named. -
any chance you took a picture of the sealed bag before or after? I'm curious what kind of multipack it was. You couldn't slide the bag around a bit to see the middle comic? If I knew what it was, I wouldn't have opened it. A multipack with ASM50 gotta be pretty rare.

6.5. easily much higher, but they'll hammer you for the stains, albeit small. very nice book for the grade

Ultimate Fallout 4 how can I tell if it’s a first or second print?

Another way to tell is on the facsimile, the Marvel logo in the upper left corner on the corner is RED. The original is BLACK. -

I just couldn't get into reading this high republic stuff, although I pick them up for spec purposes. Can you elaborate on why it's an important character there. -
Garth Ennis's 'The Boys' the next Ennis series for TV!?
Lpgk replied to Mr 9.8's topic in The Movie Forum
I think he meant the dinner with Timothy. LOL. It was twisted yet funny at same time. And hard to watch. Which is basically what this whole series is about. -
Good insight from a retailers perspective. Curious, of the people that walk in the door to sell collections, how many of them do you buy and how many walk out? Percentage wise.

I've won plenty of deals building a rapport with the seller and just reminiscing about THEIR collection. It's a thousand times easier to get deals done when people like each other. A tenet I remind myself in business and personal.
-
I agree. I find it insulting when they wave the cash in front of you. I've had people do that to me as a vendor at shows. I just put the short box with the good stuff back behind the table. Negotiations over. When I do buy collections, I stress the part about paying cash NOW and also their alternatives. Anyone not comic savvy is probably going to take their collection to a shop and I emphasize that the shop will pay 10-20 cents on the dollar, if that. Most shop are notorious for low balling. Do you really want to haul all this stuff down to the comic shop and they'll pay you only a fraction of what I am paying right here, right now in cash?

Whatever you do, make sure you get it in writing that they cover storage facilities. Very few people read their policies, so it would behoove you to protect yourself in case of loss. -

Lpgk replied to fastballspecial's topic in Comics General
Most insurance policies will not cover storage units, as they are broken into far too often. I have CIS and they were very specific as to what locations were covered. In no certain terms, storage lockers were not covered.
