  1. Here's one I had forgotten I owned. Don't even remember where/when I bought it... Gil Kane's Western covers were among the best of his Bronze Marvel output... Jim
  2. But Vince...does it really apply to Bronze anymore? Pretty much all publishers and genres from the Age has their collectors, and speculators, these days. As the market has matured there are many collectors looking for exactly what you're implying. What's the next desired avenue and let me get on-board before the masses follow? I'm not sure that the ship hasn't sailed on the whole Age. Personally, I think the Bronze Age is tapped out in this regard. Archies? The collectors have always been there. Same with Harveys. Charlton used to be a comfortable area until people realized how rare true high grade copies were before CGC. Gold Keys? Was before the Random House file copies in multiples hit the market... Again, if it has a 20-35 cent price on the cover, collectors, even if they're not into the genre/publishers, are on board if the issue is high grade. Frankly, the days of ignorance concerning Bronze is over... Jim
  3. Been looking for a nice copy of this issue for a long time. Having the NDS insert is a bonus... Jim
  4. Yea...I know it's a SA but it's still a Mildenhall...and no insert... Strange Tales #137 Jim
  5. I haven't posted some of my acquisitions in awhile, so what the heck... All are Mildenhalls with the insert... Batman #244 Jim
  6. Hey Joanna! I don't post as much as before but still read occasionally. How are you doing? Jim
  7. That's a great cover! Never seen it before. Gil Kane really knew how to draw a cover... Jim
  8. This seller is 100% wrong. Why there's any question here about this is perplexing and, frankly, why there's any discussion at all that he may not be says alot about either how gullible you all are or naive about what's right and wrong in a transaction. Once money was exchanged the transaction was sealed unless the person couldn't pay the balance under the agreed upon timeframe. The excuses, while tragic in some respects, of not following through doesn't alleviate the seller from his responsibility... Jim
  9. Yep... I don't see the designation sticking like the other monikers. And the reason is the majority of the collecting crowd these days is more mature and older. They bought these comics off the racks, sometimes in their late teens and adults, and don't see them as a special "time". That's the difference when talking about the different eras. When talking everything up to Bronze, ALOT of collectors were already collecting comics afterwards off the racks as pretty mature collectors. So anything after, they were already "hip" to the comics scene and the comics wreren't "special". And "special" has a whole lot to do with collecting and the prices paid... Calling something Copper, Lead, Prism, or whatever isn't going to do alot to drive demand for those comics regardless of the dealers desire to do so if the majority of your clientele were there when the comic was released... Jim
  10. But why? It's the buyer to determine if the resto done is one which he/she is comfortable with. Resto is resto...it's up to the buyer to determine whether it's amenable to them. To confuse the issue with different labels isn't doing the greater collecting community any favors... Jim "Resto is resto." Maybe. But resto is not necessarily conservation. I think there's a difference between the two, and think that making that differentiation on the label makes some sense But you can't make it a Blue "unrestored" label. It would have to be a different color... And you could argue that making different categories of restoration based on intent is murkying ( is that even a word?) the action... Jim

  12. Sure. That's always been the intent... The PLOD for better or worse is a flag for those who aren't enamored with restored books. And rightly so in my opinion... Jim
  13. The thing is Dupcek would probably consider it a badge of honor to have multiple entries in the Hall of Shame and would probably change his alias more to stack his number... Jim
  14. I just make it simple and say the Bronze Age started with the 25 cent Giants.... Jim
  15. I had humility. Try keeping it. Oh, I'm sorry, David. My name was on the list. I took care of my responsibility and got it taken off. There were a lot of people behind me. For that, I am humble. Now, David. Tell me what that has to do with anything. Tell me why you're bringing this up. Tell me why you are putting me down a notch because I once was imperfect. Does the fact that I was on the list for a few weeks make any comments I make on the subject of "your" *List* mute? Am I less than you now? Tell me why you're bringing this up. It's 100% irrelevant. One hundred percent. Get off your high horse, man. You've got problems. You're not on the list now though. Be thankful... To go back, and this is for both sides of the equation, is doing nothing. And if it happens, It's more about biases about an individual than their actual credibility as a seller/buyer.... Jim
