  1. He was on the list before? I had no idea Me either. I have mentioned this before that a running history would be nice. Once on the list you should not get removed but flagged as removed. A running history is contained within this thread. So ... you want people to read through 219 pages of posts in order to check if someone has been on the probation list & then subsequently removed again? No, I don't. Well you will if you want to know the info... I personally think that once a buyer/seller is off the main list then they stay off until they're in violation again.. Keeping a running historical list does nothing but give the person a continual black eye even after making things right. At it's purest, the probation list is a punitive measure to try to coerce someone to fix a bad deal. Keeping people on the list serves no incentive for someone to fix a situation... Jim
  2. After Megacon. Before the con I started making a want list and realized it was only a couple issues long. Frankly, I'm a little tapped out on BA issues I want or need. Most BA buys these days are potential upgrades that about 70% of the time turn out to not upgrade the comic I already have. I've already been collecting, here and there, the Atlas westerns for a couple years. After looking at some of the horror titles at the con, I decided it was an area I wanted to pursue... Jim
  3. This is a new area of collecting for me so I'm not much help... Jim
  4. Just want to clarify my post above... I been collecting the regular 30/35 cent coverprice Marvels for over 20 years. In that time, I never accidently came across either a 30 or 35 cent variant. The 30 centers may be easy to find but I never found one accidently...which tells me they aren't as easy as some may suggest... Jim
  5. That means you'll likely have a grand total of NONE, as these price variants were only distributed to select US cities. Man ain't that the truth. I've been buying the Marvel 30/35 centers for over 20 years and at stores up and down the East Coast west to the Mississippi. And I have never in that time picked up a 35 cent variant without knowing it...much less see one unidentified when I was looking... Jim
  6. Personally, if there is a decrease in buying, and I'm not convinced there is for quality material, is the economic downturn has finally hit this Forum. People are not willing to overly spend on items today they were even two months ago. I'll also add that some sellers are asking for premiums for even common material (in the scheme of things) hoping for an impulse buy that's not going to happen in this environment. Also, the days for asking CGC prices for raw comics are numbered in my opinion...and thank goodness for that... Jim
  7. If they want to make money and have comics to sell, they'll be using the Forum regardless of the format. The cadre of collectors here willing to spend for quality BIN comics on the web is probably unequaled once you get past the major comics auction sites. And I'd suggest it's even more alluring then those at times when you compare prices. That's the beauty of selling here...smart, knowledgeable, and in most cases, market savvy collectors selling directly to other smart, knowledgeable collectors. And if sellers choose to bypass this avenue due to a little extra work on their part (it's far from a pain in the arse to make or follow a couple threads), then it's their loss. There are plenty other sellers to replace them. If there's one thing this Marketplace isn't lacking, it's not lacking in quality material, in multiples. Jim
  8. It only makes it easier on the bare handfull of buyers and sellers who are interested in only a single age. For everyone else, that would be a huge headache and would likely stifle sales considerably. I know I wouldn't want to dig through three separate forums to try to chase down threads by the same seller. Define "huge headache"? It's only a couple additional clicks of a mouse. Personally, the griping about splitting threads and the effort it takes to find sell listings is pretty silly from a buying perspective. I much prefer to see the Age of the comic I'm looking for in one spot than have to wade through countless threads to find them. That's more work and time wasted in my opinion... Jim Try listing four separate sales threads in four separate forums. Believe me, that's going to be a headache. Maybe...but I'm looking at it from a buying perspective. And from that perspective, I much prefer splitting the threads. If you want to talk about a headache, that's what the one size fits all model was achieving... As far as sellers...I guess if you want to make money then you'll have to adapt. Much better than griping about the set-up. There's no money going that route... Jim

  10. Yep, I buy alot here, and provided input for the format change, and I really like the new layout. Spend much less time finding what I'm looking for and don't feel like I've missed any comics due to having to click on multiple threads... Jim
  11. I really doubt anyone was picking on you... Since this happened on a weekend, and we all know you can get away with most anything because the mods are rarely looking, I tend to give the mods the benefit of a doubt on this one. The appropriate measures will be dealt out soon enough I'm sure... Jim
  12. Knew it wasn't long before the mod smackdown... Something tells me that he'll be back fairly quickly for a last word... Jim
  13. Wonder if it was originally a blue-labeled Ewert that was resubmitted for check? Jim
  14. Dunno about the number of viewers, but the GA/SA/BA forum has been slamming busy. I was shocked at how much stuff I sold this weekend (mainly because there aren't a lot of low/midgrade collectors around here). I went a few hours without posting on Saturday evening and my thread was on page 2 of that forum already. No complaints here. I was extremely happy with it. Focused buyers are always a good thing... Jim
  15. I think now it's more spread out, it seems there are less views. I don't think there is less traffic though... And if anything, it's showing that Copper/Moderns made up the bulk of the posts... Jim
  16. He's a tool...and apparently really customer friendly based on this rant... (THIS MEANS…DO NOT ASK FOR ADDITIONAL SCANS OF AN ITEM YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING. IF YOU WISH TO SEE A LARGER VIEW OF THE PHOTOS THAN THE ONES POSTED, DO IT THROUGH YOUR COMPUTER’S PHOTO VIEWING/EDITING PROGRAM. WE WILL NOT SEND EXTRA SCANS OR PHOTOS OF ANY ITEMS LISTED OTHER THAN THOSE POSTED ON OUR SITE. ANY COMMUNICATION OUTSIDE OF THE EBAY WEBSITE IS PROHIBITED AS STATED IN EBAY’S RULES AND REGULATIONS.) 17. Big shout-out to Fazybones for some great war comics... (thumbs u They arrived from Canada in record time. The packing was the best I've seen in quite awhile...took me 10 minutes to get to the comics. And some really REALLY sweet, though unnecessary but appreciated, freebies... Too bad you opened, and closed, your newest thread while I was at work... Jim
  18. Time to clean up the comics room and finally get on with downsizing the collection... Will be selling a wide range of Bronze, Silver and a small smattering of Copper/Moderns probably starting right after the NCAA Champ game is over and going periodically over the next week. They will be priced to move quickly as I really need to make room... See ya there... Jim
