  1. Some more issues from the mid-90s closed store inventory I'm currently going through... Jim
  2. After talking and coordinating with a guy for about two weeks to see approx 50,000 comics from a store backstock that closed sometime in early-mid 90s, today I finally got to go through the first 10% or so of the inventory. And I had a blast doing it. Recently, I looked at about 70 boxes of another store's backstock and the collection was mostly quarter fodder 90s drek. That wasn't the case today. There was a wide range of issues available, and some of it was drek, but there were many issues that made it a pleasure to waste 4 hours on. I'll probably go through some more tomorrow and could take awhile to go through it all. Here's a sampling of what I bought today...and did I mention the collection was chock full of issues with MJ inserts? Starslayer #2 Nice Grell issue... ...but what was really great is what I found on the backing board... Asylum #1 Never heard of or seen the title. Very nice horror cover... Same with Gasp... The Nam #1 Art Adams cover... Daredevil #185 Always liked this cover... Oh...and there also this issue. Next Men #21. Word has it it's the 1st Hellboy in a regular comic. And I found 5 of them... Jim
  3. Nerd. Yep...the only regular series I watch anymore. Well that and Celeb Rehab... Jim Steven Adler is SO at the top of my 'celebrity deadpool'. Man you aren't kidding. Really sad to see as he was one of the best things about this year's CR. Steven's run on CR combined with the first two episodes of Sober House should be required viewing for anyone thinking of going on the smack... Jim
  4. Nerd. Yep...the only regular series I watch anymore. Well that and Celeb Rehab... Jim
  5. I believe it's more sources as well as an understanding that there's a market for the genre. For years, dealers with war comics didn't advertise them as it was seen as a genre with a very limited and small collecting base. I think that base has expanded over time and dealers have reflected that in bringing more to market... Jim
  6. That's true...you can even goes further back to mid-60s War. In FN, you can get some seriously nice deals...including some issues that you didn't ordinarily see 10 years ago even if you scoured the Internet or mail order dealers... Jim
  7. $2.25. It's on the UPC but was cut off by my scanner... Jim
  8. My most satisfying buy in at least a couple years... Fantastic Four V3 #60 Newsstand Variant Jim
  9. But even your threads can go overboard at times. I've just stopped keeping up with your threads a couple times when the chaff was too much of a hassle to keep looking. When you have to go through two pages of a thread without a single comic being offered, it's just not worth it in my opinion... Jim
  10. Of course they have. To a seller, you're the best thing to come along since sliced bread since you, and others, continually bump their threads to the top. I'd be encouraging you also... To everyone else, except that seller, trying to find things to buy? You, and others who post the same inane nonsence in selling threads, come off looking like tools... Jim
  11. It's the Reed Richards of Counter-Earth... Jim
  12. Haven't done this in awhile...here are a few from the top of a stack I'm clearing off my desk... Jim
  13. He doesn't want my super sweet top census copy. By the way, is this your copy and did you buy it for $75 off of Comiclink? Jim
  14. He doesn't want my super sweet top census copy. I own a cracked out 8.5... Jim
  15. Not Icefire's either...but a great copy nonetheless... Jim
  16. Best comic you've posted so far. Show us an Adventure #416 and Batman #238 and you'll have the 100-page trifecta... (thumbs u Jim
  17. Here are a few as I'm cleaning my desk area... Jim
  18. So how many of these do you have? Jim
  19. Just Jortner. These are two separate entities but Silver Age Comics allows Jortner to sell books in their name through e-bay. I have spoken to Gus, the owner of Silver Age Comics, several times. He is well aware of the issues. Wouldn't that make Silver Age Comics as much a scumbag as Jortner since Gus is aware of the issues yet continued to sell his comics? Jim
  20. Long overdue Kudos.... IIII for some sweet and accurately graded SA DC romance. Nice to see some newbies actually get it... jimm94 for some very nice GA westerns. Don't let others steer you wrong...top-notch all the way... (thumbs u cd4ever for his usual junk. Seriously though, he's a great seller that's always offering comics you don't see often in the marketplace... musicmeta for a wonderful HG all-time favorite comic from my childhood... Jim
  21. A little research will provide all the answers No kidding. Took all of a minute to figure it out... Jim
  22. You did. Came in the mail late yesterday. Beautiful book that was beautifully packed. Thanks for the deal... (thumbs uJim
  23. Although I have several thousand foreign DCs from all over the world, I just pick them up when I can. I don't think anyone would expect me to collect them all. If collecting only the US copies wasn't enough, I'd expect collecting every foreign reprint a nightmare if not impossible... Jim
