  1. At 3 grand its priced at a premium then, especially if its not graded. A graded 8.0 can be had in the mid 2's on eBay or ComicLink with a little patience.
  2. "Second chance" is definitely still an eBay feature. Our buddy Jon Kaftor was using it in the exact same manner.
  3. What, you don't think Wizard World Springfield, MO was a good idea???
  4. Once we establish a Board of Directors, I think that motion will carry unanimous "yea's".
  5. This sounds like the next Comics General topic -- "Let's pool our cash and buy Wizard World!"
  6. Hahaha, karma gonna do what karma does! Wonder what happened this time.
  7. Interesting, but couldn't two guys from Sony just buy a three day and cruise artist alley without telling anyone from Wizard? Doesn't seem like Wizard adds much value in this relationship. BTW -- WIZD currently trading @ $0.22, down 8ish%
  8. I'm walking that tightrope now. No fun, but I keep telling myself "can't live under the comics"...
  9. There's two other threads on those Hollywood Memorabilia clowns. One thing interesting that we found is that eBay seller pristinecomics-pristineccg also has a good amount of those books listed, at much lower prices. Always wondered what the connection is between the two, and if hm.com has ever actually made a sale at such outlandish prices.
  10. Biggest regret is easy -- DEFINITELY it would be buying my first 9.8 copy of the Wolverine 145 Nabisco variant for $2700. Especially since it was back in the days when I really didn't have the scratch to make that kind of blunder. It can be had around a grand these days. But I guess the flipside -- one score I'm very happy about is the 9.6 copy I bought for about $200, had signed (Yu and Stan) and pressed, and its now an SS 9.8. The other would be the PGX 9.8 (yes PGX actually got one right!) copy of Wolverine 102.5 I bought for $400 and change. Sign (Buckingham), on-site: still the one and only SS 9.8 on the census!
  11. If it weren’t for all the fraud and interstate crime hassles, he’d be entrepreneuring like a boss...
  12. I got a kick out of this one in particular, not only a subpar effort but it also closely resembles "Stole".
  13. Curious - did you proactively reach out to CGC customer service about the situation? If so, what did they tell you? In all my years of dealing with them, I've never known them to make a concerted outreach effort to inform customers of their books' grading status, the onus has always been on the customer to contact them.
  14. Do you really consider Logan or Deadpool to be "spin-offs" though? X-Men Origins: Wolverine did its best to totally screw up the Deadpool character, and Logan...at least from my jaded "I'm going to transfer my hatred towards Marvel for ruining their comics so I'm not seeing this movie" point of view anyway...just seemed like a way to age out Hugh Jackman from the franchise.
  15. Agreed, off to a good start, and already better than Spider-Man 3!
  16. Thirded, just today I worked out a minor billing mix-up with them. Took all of 5 minutes on the phone. I would suggest calling for an update, e-mail is probably inundated since the January auction just ended.
  17. The New Mutants 98 labeled as a Hulk 181 (or was it the other way around?) is still my favorite QC screw-up.
  18. As an interested onlooker, you really aren't helping your case very much with your continued screeds in this thread. Your eBay profile says you signed up on December 26, 2017, and normally a new member who isn't paying for their wins is reason enough to put said new member into the realm of suspicion with most of us. You say extenuating circumstance, fair enough. However... You keep claiming to be very wrapped up in family matters, so why are you spending time on the boards at all? If you're not concerned about paying for comics (which incidentally takes less time than writing any of the posts that you've made so far), why do you care what any of us think at the moment? Why even bother to read this thread in the first place? One man's opinion - the first thing I think when an NPB (or Jon Kaftor) comes in here trying to claim the moral high ground while spouting "F all of you greedy xyz's", my first reaction is "well someone doesn't want their joy ride to come to an end...". Maybe its just the jaded pragmatist in me. Regardless, while your word is probably the most important thing in this hobby, you can start working to rebuild it at anytime. And for now, in your situation, that can probably wait.
  19. Please let this mean yet another divergent timeline, because if there’s one thing the X-Men franchise needs, its more timelines.
  20. My first and (so far) only double cover in the collection. It taught me a valuable lesson too - even if it looks like a 9.8 on the surface and you're going to have it signed by Claremont, still open the book up! I had no idea this one was a double until it got to Florida and my facilitator found out about it.
  21. So let's break down your post a bit -- "Who are we to judge." " Let he who be without sin, cast the first stone " And yet your intro is -- "These are heartless money hungry SOB````````s sellers" Judge much, Wayne's Comic's? And since you want to play the Bible game: Romans 13:7 -- “Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed."
  22. So because some kid probably used the cover to do a tracing of Iron Fist and damaged the book, its value somehow increased? Got it. This dude is low.
  23. Considering that you posted a logical, well reasoned explanation, I would very much doubt anyone would block you for a situation like this as long as you kept them apprised of your situation. Generally speaking, if you read through this thread, some of the common themes you'll see among block recommendations are: - No contact from bidder (and no payment of course) - Bidder is full of lame excuses ("My car died and my grandma is in the shop") - Bidder is a thrill bidder ("Oh bleep, I didn't think I'd actually win! Cancel cancel cancel!") - Bidder is just an individual_without_enough_empathy (Such as submitting a cancellation request within 30 seconds of hitting the Buy it Now) - Bidder is a scam artist (asking for frivolous returns, not actually returning a product, chargebacks, etc.)
