  1. On the bright side, your hiatus isn't related to a loss of passion for the hobby. When the fiscal picture gets brighter, you may find yourself right back in the fray. I've "sworn off" comics twice in my life - first when I was 9 or 10 because I hated the Fatal Attractions story line so much. That was a full swearing off, but luckily it only lasted about 7 years. I even came to appreciate FA a little bit as I entered my adult years. The second time was after I had the misfortune of reading the atrocious "Death" of Wolverine story. At that point I realized that new releases no longer held interest for me, and I haven't bought a new one, of any title, since then. Who knows though, maybe after 7 years have passed I won't think that Charles Soule is an overrated hack, but I doubt it. Luckily, swearing off #2 just left me more time and funds to focus on the books I actually enjoy
  2. One Dr. Doom in means one Dr. Doom out... Necessities first: Payment: In addition to PayPal, I will also accept check/money order/Zelle, though the book will be held until clearance. Payment due within 10 business days. Shipping (domestic): Book will be shipped via insured USPS priority mail. Domestic shipping is included in the listed price. International Shipping - exact cost, minus the US shipping cost. Please inquire first for an accurate quote. Returns: No returns on CGC books as you know what you're getting. On the HoS? Probation list? Or I simply don't like you (aka on my ignore list)? Don't bother. Can provide board references if needed (no name dropping here), and over 1700 positive eBay feedback as well -- https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=792mn. And I've got a fledgling kudos thread started (link is in my profile page). First wins the book outright, well reasoned offers always considered. Onward! If you've been keeping score, you might've seen that I just claimed an FF 17. Being a passive FF collector, this new purchase amounts to a swap of Dr. Doom covers for me. So #23 goes up for sale here. The pictures pretty much tell the story on this one -- a 3.5 blue with ow/w pages, the front cover presents great for the grade. Also a little fun factoid - according to the stamp on the back cover, it appears this book made its way over to Greece at one point. Most recent sale I found was a 4.5 blue on eBay, which (using @valiantman's neat trick detailed over in General) I was able to ascertain sold for a $115 best offer ("binPriceOnly":"134.99","taxExclusivePrice":"115.00"), with $13 shipping on top of that. So let's call my book $100 shipped.
  3. The “your money was spent before it even got here” response to Polonsky was very telling about TCC’s level of professionalism. And it’s only gotten worse since then.
  4. Especially with two blue label 9.6s currently priced at a BIN under $2500. Either the average eBayer is even dumber than we thought, or dude has added shilling to his sales tactics.
  5. This is getting ugly, the 2nd situation is even worse than the 1st. Hopefully everyone gets made whole, but if not...are we seeing a pattern of intentional deceit?
  6. Mainstream adoption is occurring in significant part due to the reduced transaction fees. Credit cards, PayPal, etc. charge a percentage of the value being sent as their fee. Bitcoin's fees are based on the amount of data being sent, and it sounds like the sender has actual input into the amount of that fee: How Bitcoin Transaction Fees Are Determined | Buy Bitcoins (buyabitcoin.com.au) Sending $10,000 from one place to another for, say, a $20 cost sure beats sending that $10,000 through PayPal for a roughly $300 cost.
  7. I like this one in particular -- UNCANNY X-MEN #101 NM+/UNREAD 💎 ORIGIN & 1ST APP OF PHOENIX! ORIGINAL OWNER CGC | eBay -- a rarely seen unread book that must have come off the presses pre-spine rolled. Dude's photo manipulation skills are slipping.
  8. This right here is all eBay cares about. As long as buyers are buying, the sellers be damned.
  9. @classicaaron - this situation above is what I would be most worried about were I in your shoes. I personally don't sell anything worth anything on eBay anymore. I found that the scammers and thrill bidders can have every number >= 0 next to their name; feedback scores are almost irrelevant these days as buyers face no consequences no matter the level of their misconduct.
  10. The only two I've ever had to deal with were really easy. The transaction details from eBay should suffice for them (purchase price, shipping data showing the book never shipped, etc.).
  11. But why isn’t there a Conveniently Verifying Anything sticker on it???
  12. Your wisdom is indisputable on that. Well played.
