  1. These don't count as newsstand pics, but they do count as COOL PICS !!! Nice vintage Batman t-shirt....she looks happy.....
  2. Let's see a WEIRD MYSTERIES run.....anyone have one ? Post it HERE.....
  3. I've seen some of those....GREAT PICS !!! I like the guys buying the cigars. There is a More Fun and a Zip down there by their feet. The 1939 newsstand pic exists also as a HUGE detailed blow-up.
  4. From the same set....maybe the same comic.....These were taken in Vale, Oregon....7-4-41
  5. Another excellent photograph of the July 1942 magazine covers. Anyone unfamiliar with UNITED WE STAND magazine publishers PATRIOTIC FLAG COVER effort for this month....should click on that link. Fascinating stuff. I love the Veronica Lake cover. I have about 15 or so Veronica Lake covers.
  6. No comics....but an impressive newsstand photo...very sharp...From July 1942
  7. Very interesting and historic photograph there.... Here is the "bookend" to that one..... May 7th, 1945
  8. That's the earliest color newsstand photo I've seen. Good Work !!!
  9. Here's an idea....push a couple chairs together, sit very uncomfortably on them, and strike a pose reading that new issue of FLASH COMICS. "My reading comprehension improves when my spine is close to snapping"
  10. You would think the guys at DC would have been excited enough about the publication of ACTION 1 that they would have made some type of historical documentation about it. Maybe someone took a pic of it on the stands. Hopefully one day it will turn up.
  11. I don't really have the 1938 Kodachrome pic...I just wished I did. Maybe one does exist?. I'm sure it would be nice.
  12. I have an original 1938 COLOR Kodachrome newsstand picture with a prominently displayed ACTION # 1 and all the other comics !!!!!! It looks like it was taken on a warm and sunny day, sometime in late MAY 1938. It's truly breathtaking. It just takes your breath away. I mean, "I wish I had....." (sorry, bye the way, couldn't help myself) I honestly spend a couple hours a week looking for old newsstand pics. I still keep finding them, so MAYBE (hopefully) a REAL GEM exists out there. I've seen the INFAMOUS NYC newsstand with the bogus ACTION 1's photoshopped in, is the the Michael C. ad you speak of ?
  13. Arrrgggh...I wish this (and the prior) picture was larger. This makes those Mr. Bailey Newsstand pics even COOLER. These pics are just teasers. If the print was larger, it would be cool. Forum member kaylab has a really cool comic book related picture I hope he can post here. No Comics, I don't think, but a cool 1936 newsstand photo, that I wish were larger too.
