  1. This was dated January 1939. Great shot...but too small. Are those comics over on the left ??
  2. Sounds like a good deal...that's all. You shoulda bid
  3. I love old newsstand pics. LOVE THEM !! I've discovered a couple more recently. I'll dig them up and post them here.
  4. How did you figure it out ? What led you to the picture ? Super-Friggin' COOL bye the way !!!!! I'll bet your eyes lit up when you made the discovery. You're kind of like a Comic-Book Scientist
  5. COOL !!! IF you ever find any vintage pics with comics, post them here.
  6. Whoever runs this website has it posted there as well WEREWOLF story along with a bunch of other pre-code stories Thanks for posting it here Scrooge

  8. THIS WEBSITE has numerous anti-comic book related material.
  9. I understand a bit better now why you jumped on that Marvel 1 when it was for sale on the boards. I didn't know you were putting together a Pedigree Type Set. I didn't know the KC pedigree was so rarely offered for sale. Are you sure that's an almost complete list of the GA peds ? What about the ALVIN pedigree Great accomplishment on putting that together. Must have taken a long time.
  10. SUSPENSE # 24 Close-UP of the main artwork.... Don't forget to SHUDDER as you read.......THE BOILING POINT !!!
  11. Thanks for posting the SPACE ADVENTURES Such an interesting and atmospheric cover...never really noticed it before...
  12. A little color adjustment to enhance This Magazine is Haunted # 17
  13. Nope.....a little more eclectic than that.....but it is an Atom Age book that had a very short series run. However, the creators are two of the gods of the industry. My guess is FUNNYMAN created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster....1948, ran for six issues.
  14. I know it doesn't ACTUALLY say it...but I read it as HERE LIES MY MOM...which it very well may have said and they may have cleaned it up to obscure it. I would love to see the original art....if it isn't dust in the wind. Saw those two lower grade ones ebay. I'm holding out for a nice FINE or better....your copy looks that nice, if not more so.
  15. Weird Mysteries 12 is in my top five favorite covers. I just love that cover. I think the absence of any cover blurbs really adds to the gloomy and weird cover. I wish I had a copy. Yours looks nice. Where'd you get it...how long ya' had it ? Have an extra copy ?
  16. I said, War!, huh! Good God, y'all What is it good for? Outstanding groupshots Say it again. FUNNY....made me laugh. The wall shot is a really cool perspective. COOL PIC !!!
  17. On the subject of early color photographs...check this out, it's awesome !!!! Charles Cushman Photography collection It has some great Kodachrome pics of the 1938 San Francisco Exposition...as well as 100's of early color shots of downtown SF in the 30's - 60's. I wish there were more sites , or another early color photo collection online. Anybody know of any GOOD SITES ??
  18. I found a larger picture online of the Appleton.... and a really cool blog I found it at... http://goldenagecomicbookstories.blogspot.coml
