I would assume it'd be ok, don't know the ends and outs, but what else would Kevin smith sign? he's even listed under comic creators

    so I'll assume it's ok.

I use that defense for Kevin Smith, but reality it should apply to all celebs, I'd hope that CGC would be normal conversation :wishluck:

    and or

that it is easy to find out lol:cheers: everything is subject to change so ^^ I'll be patient :)

Whatever you want? He signed my Clerks laserdisc for me a couple years ago (not at a fan expo event, but he was happy to sign). I'm anticipating getting a non-comic item signed here myself.

  2. Perhaps I'm looking in all of the wrong places, but where exactly does one procure a completely blank cover for an artist to create a commissioned sketch cover?

And related question: If I commission an artist remotely, and agree to meet them at a convention to pick up the sketch cover, if a CGC witness is present, is that sufficient to have it submitted for the yellow label?

Feel free to contact Customer Service and make your case.

So I did, but it fell upon deaf ears (as I expected it would). I'm understanding in general when guests cancel, this isn't my first con and I've been attending this one in particular for years. But when this many people cancel and there are no longer any real headliners (and despite what anyone says, my belief is that given everything going on right now, most cancellations were because it's in Texas), the "too bad so sad" refund policy needs to change.

The celebrities are what you use to promote the con. When numerous celebrities cancel and you've already sold tickets for people hoping to see those celebrities, it feels really bait-and-switch-y.

The lesson I've learned this year is to never, under any circumstances, buy con tickets in advance. And I won't be ever again.

yes, and he did a facebook video explaining it was due to work and schedule etc. said he looked forward to a "next year" ....

I saw it, I thought that was nice of him. But he also canceled "due to a professional obligation" on 7/13 for a 7/17 - 7/18 con.

If the scheduling/work is that tight for him...

Correct "cgc itself" will not be represented

    BUT!!!

Other CGC facilitators and witnesses will be there, if you get started early you can ask them questions and or drop off with them, or we have been able to at past cons. They might tell you when and how also other in's and outs.

I haven't heard of any specific booths or facilitators for this con, but I'm 99%positive :) as some of the special ticketed events to this con have a separate CGC available option :tink:

I believe Dork Buzz will be there, who can CGC witness/facilitate.

Welcome to my life, booking guests, announcing guests, guests cancel. we let people know guests have cancelled.

In these uncertain times, guests are wary of issues related to spread. The media is certainly raising anxieties, even when we introduce cautionary measures such as mandatory masks at the events.

By the way Fan Expo Dallas will require mandatory masks.

    Cancelled today - Greg Capullo.

Does that mean masks for fully vaccinated attendees? How will this impact photo ops?

I was wondering if y'all would be there?

It still should be a good show for comics and mythbusters!  :sumo:

So far, 2 weeks is awful short notice to all if a sudden be cancelling but cest le vie

I've seen many conventions where guests have canceled days before the convention. I was just supposed to attend a con in Colorado last weekend, but the guest I would have been attending for canceled 2 days before. Luckily, I was able to get the flight/hotel refunded, but had to eat the con ticket cost.

  8. I just wanted to comment on how the website advises ticket pricing BEFORE getting to actual the purchase ticket screen:

    "Single Day

    Advance ticket price

    From $25

    Full price

    From $30"

While technically accurate, "from" is misleading because that's the Friday pricing. A bit different when you click-through and see Saturday is $50 and Sunday is $40.
Please do better than misleading people like this next year, because it looks like a single day is $25 or $30, not just Friday. I'd love to know the bounce rate of that page.

  9. Yes, I was there today. It's busier than expected.

You can find helpful CGC witnessing services at the DORK BUZZ booth. Very friendly and good guys. Got my items taken care of fairly quickly.

Because one guest showed up late for their photo op in the afternoon, it pushed all the photo ops back by half an hour. And to make matters worse, there is only *1* photo op booth, not multiple operating at the same time.
