I too am receiving, today 3/7/24, the “Your order cannot be submitted at this time. Please try again later” message. What needs to be done? Please advise.

    Hi,

This is a known problem and is currently being looked into:

  2. I started using Westfield's Subscription service starting in August of 1983.  My nearest LCS at the time was like 50 miles away and not only did I get tired of the drive but by the time I'd get there (typically on the weekends), most of the new issues I were after were already sold out.  When I signed up with Westfield, I never missed an issue again.  LOVED getting that monthly shipment.  It was like Christmas once a month all year long.

Furthermore, I thought the Westfield catalog's were awesome.  A majority of the time, the covers of the catalog's were done by professional's in the industry.  One I distinctly remember was this fantastic Grendel (Hunter Rose) cover by Matt Wagner.  Which in turn started me reading Grendel (all incarnations). But original art covers?  Nice!  I still wish I had some of them.

And the selection of what you could purchase went above and beyond.  I was into the Doc Savage paperback reprints by Bantam and I could order those from Westfield too!  Again, it saved me from having to go to either a Waldenbooks or a B. Dalton book store to find the latest release.

Then there was the customer service.  Any problems with a recent order, I'd call and always speak to "Mary."  Always helpful, always friendly.

I pretty much dropped out of comics in the late 80's/early 90's and consequently Westfield because there was just this explosion of comics.  I was willing to try and keep up but finally the wallet spoke up and reminded me that due to other obligations, my discretionary income was not as vast as it used to be.

Sorry, @EastEnd1, my intent was not to derail your wonderful thread.  Just another Westfield alumni here.  I think I read once where Kurt Busiek was also a Westfield customer!

A few weeks ago, I noticed that under the periodical name World Famous Creatures, there was the word "updated" in red next to it.  Since I had previously submitted various issues to CGC over the years, and nothing new has been published by that title in over 60 years, I was curious as to what exactly was "updated".  I quickly found out that CGC unceremoniously deleted the listing for World Famous Creatures #1 U.K. cover and price variant that had already been in place for over a year.  My question is WHY?  Why is CGC singling out my cover and price variant issue while allowing a ton of other cover/price variant editions of both comics and magazines to continue to be listed?  I sent an inquiry to CGC back on 02-15-2024 with no response thus far.

This is something you may want to ask the Registry Administer about in the CGC Registry Forum.   :gossip:

Anyone reading Joker Year 1? Personally, I think the story is just okay.

And is the side story where people are becoming infected in Gotham City happening in the future? I was a little lost on that.

Yes, I read issue 144 (part 3 of 3) last night.  I agree with your assessment.  The ending was kind of anti-climactic.

And to honest, I think the Gotham City infections do take place in the future but I can't say that with 99% certainly.

I am glad to see we're getting Jorge Jimenez back next issue :)

@X_Phile  Did you ever see any movement on your submission?

The two MFT submissions I sent in which were scanned on 2/13 STILL have not made it to my Submission Tracking list.  I did call Customer Service yesterday and was told the submissions have been in Receiving so I don't know what the heck Receiving is doing with them.

It's all good.  Both submissions just hit Submission Tracking :)

Have this Modern Fast Track Submission that should have shipped back already (TAT Date 2/13) but hasn't even left SFG status. Good thing I paid extra for fast track

I sent my book on Tuesday from Orlando and still hasn’t shown on my submissions. Should have gotten there on Thursday. Order# CGC4739432331. It’s a Mechanical Error (Missing signature on label)

Do you have a tracking number for your ME submission?  Did you follow-up to see if it's actually been delivered to CGC?  If so, did you try using the Package Tracking Tool as shown in the screen cap below to see if whether or not it's been scanned into their system?

Not sure what you mean by giving them an earful, but just in case I will put this out there as food for thought - the people you will be communicating with have no say in any part of policy, processes, or decisions. They are just taking the calls or texts and doing the best they can while being at the front lines and dealing directly with the customer base. Complaints are valid, of course, but I would default to polite mixed with an understanding of how stressful customer service work can be sometimes.

This from the person who said Vintage and Magazine submissions are typically the slowest.

And please don't get me started on Customer Service.  You can tell this by when you speak with them.  Some don't have a clue.  Some are there to just phone it in.  However, there are a few who do go above and beyond and will escalate a matter it something seems amiss which is when I typically call.

I sent two MFT submissions and they arrived this past Monday, 2/12.  They were scanned in the next day, 2/13.  But as of this writing neither have shown up on my Submission Tracking.  If I don't see them listed by next Tuesday, I'll put a call into Customer Service.  And if I hear something to the effect of "Oh well we're still going through Megacon intakes" as a (scripted)  excuse, someone's going to get an earful.

@workingdog Best thing to do is check the set first, and I'm sure you and most others are doing that anyway. The short answer to this is that you won't be able to see others requests, but the way I'm trying to get the back end on this organized is to be able to group requests together for the same sets. Fortunately for yourselves the new form makes the process of submitting requests very quick, so if it is a duplicate it's not much time lost.

Eventually, when time allows and when we have more help, one request would lead to them all...sort of like the one ring! LOL! In other words, eventually when someone makes a single request and I can see there are additional slots missing in the set, I'd like to get them all added at once rather than piecemeal. I try to work this way as much as possible when I can, but it does slow things down.

Adding missing slots to existing sets will actually be phase two of the large, overall cleanup. Phase one (underway) is bringing sets up to compliance with the guidelines, making sure everything is tagged with the appropriate era (Gold, Silver, etc.) and adding or adjusting existing tags so that sets show up under the correct popular search links. And of course building new sets for foreign books and anything else parsed out.

Understood.  Thank you for the quick reply!

I just texted customer service.  I opted to pay $5 for hi-res imaging with my Unlimited Value submission.  That adds 10 days to the turn around time.  So the "delay" is my own fault.  It's not really a delay.  I didn't notice the +10 days when I submitted.  Doh!

Please don't beat yourself up.  When the Imaging Department sends you the link to download your slab images, look at the date/timestamp on the .jpg files.  And then tell me if the image was taken ten days after the grading date or if it was just a day or two.

They always have some kind of excuse ready to go when things like this happens ...

    A.  Delay due to NYCC intake

    B.  Delay due to in house move

    C.  It's the Holidays

    D.  Now it's going to be Delay due to MegaCon intake

Well, apparently, the Delay due to MegaCon intake excuse doesn't apply to some.  MegaCon was just this past weekend, right?  Check this out:

I had three MFT books graded on 1/24.  When did they ship?  Yesterday, 2/6.
