  1. Major major Kudos are due to Foolkiller . After a mix up where I BINed a couple of books in his threads, without him sending them, he sent them for FREE along with a few other not too cheap books. Class, class, class. Thanks Brian (thumbs u
  2. And that's why that it sold for less seems so dubious. Bat-Man has a chance to gain tons of good will here, be the hero, gain good karma - and he has another copy of the book anyway - AND make $100 in the process... Not to mention kill this thread. Just seems a bit Somebody (and not Matt) is likely fudging the facts a little bit...
  3. Yes, I think it's appropriate, and in the best interests of the community. If the seller had personal issues, perhaps his judgement was clouded, but that gives nobody the right to abandon ethics and fairness. He reneged on a done deal, with absolutely no hint that the buyer was going to default. That's about as bad as it gets for a seller's rep. Seriously, if Comicsupply or some other past notorious character on here had done this, they wouldn't only be on the probation list and hall of shame, but the calls for their banning would be deafening.
  4. According to Dan, they were actually going to drive over there, pick the book up in person and finalize the deal on Saturday. DRX Which would you prefer? Payment by electronic means that's guaranteed all at once. Or would you rather wait for some stranger who may or may not show up with his friend at your door step after a four-hour drive? And if they do show up, wouldn't you be concerned about the possibility of being beaten up and robbed? The logistics for setting this up is a pain compared to the ease of a quick electronic payment. No? This is the biggest load of BS ever. Matt got screwed plain and simple. If he was that concerned he could have insisted on a paypal payment first and met for then met for the pick-up. I feel bad that Yannis is dealing with his personal situation but he didn't even give Matt the courtesy/opportunity to pay up first. this whole thing just reeks of bad business. Probation list or not, you can scratch one buyer off my list of people who I'll deal with. Yes. From what we've heard so far, I see little to support the seller. Even if the sale was for less money (and I'm skeptical about that), a deal is a deal. What was done (from what we know to date) was unethical. Period. My sympathies for the seller's personal situation, but that doesn't give anybody a suspension from ethics, and I don't see how that really factors in at all.
  5. This is gonna sound snarky but it's not. You must be living in a different Connecticut than I've lived in all my life. It gets humid as HELL here in the summer. No, not Florida humid or Louisiana humid but still pretty damn humid. Yep, I can confirm that.
  6. Kudos to 3319comics for a nice DD and a freebie (thumbs u

  12. This is very true. It's one of those cliches that there are so many exceptions to that one wonders who saw enough of a pattern to make the "rule". ... although to my experience, more than half the time it's the parent that's good and the offspring that's...not so much.
