Sorry that stinks! I had the same experience a few months ago. I bought a lot of French Heritage GI Joe books for my run on EBay. One book had half a page missing and 2 had writing in it. The seller was rude about it and said that since that issue 21 was nice that those books were a throw in. He ended up refunding me $4-$5 a book but he was one of the rudest sellers I’ve ever dealt with. I ended up with a 9.0 on the 21 so I guess it’s a wash.
I was fortunate this time and the last time this happened that the seller was over the top apologetic and cooperative in the return/refund process. I had history buying from both so that may have come into play as well.

You would think I had learned my lesson by now and would ask questions before an eBay purchase. In my defense the description said no cutouts.

This is a pretty tough issue
Thanks! Maybe I should have given it more respect. Read and bagged but apparently I didn’t consider Crystar “backing board worthy”. I was so cheap back in the 80’s!

I just purchased 50 pack of E. Gerber 700FB from eBay. I noticed only one side is white and the other is brown. Is this new for them to cut costs or a manufacture defect? All others I have are white on both sides. Product numbers seem to match up with what I received in the past. I’ll email E. Gerber tomorrow to see what they say. Here is side by side of old and new.

No. It is a CDN price variant that is finally going in this week for grading. As you can see, my comic room is very organized - I took the picks in the only empty space I could find at the time.
Sweet!!! Post it in the Bronze (or is that Copper) forum when you get it back!

That's awesome. More proof they aren't as rare as I first believed. A book from my childhood, if you ever want to sell it, let me know...
Sorry but parted with this one soon after getting it graded. It was a sharp copy though!

Yeah I had been grabbing a copy a week from my one my shops until they read the last few pages of this thread…at least it seems that way.
Seems same at my LCS. Shelves were full of the Star Wars issues from prior months. But once I read about an issue here then I’m a day too late!

A raw Silver Surfer(second series) #20 I picked up from my local comic shop(!), Amazing Spider-Man #281 CGC 9.4(My baby), and two I currently have up for sale on eBay: Tomb of Dracula #8 CGC 8.0 and a grail-ish book: G.I. Joe ARAH #21 CGC 7.5.
While I once thought there could only be a handful of these in existence, after seeing multiple posted to eBay recently including two of two specific issues(Rom #52 and ASM #315*), I've come to the conclusion that while still very rare, they aren't the one-of-kind unicorns I once believed they might be.
*One thing I've also found in my travels is that multiple covers are definitely more common for certain issues(Iron Man #55 and Amazing Spider-Man #361 immediately spring to mind). Obviously the errors happened intermittently and then were caught and fixed so that you simply won't ever find a multiple cover for many(if not most) specific issue numbers.
An eBay purchase from 2018. I had it graded at Baltimore Comicon. The seller had another just like it and also two iron man. He was the OO and said he got all four at the same time from the base where he was serving.
