I've still been fascinated with the arcade1up.com website.

They have like a coffee table arcade that I think does only board games. With like a touch screen and etc.

    I'd be curious if

    1) what games it has.

    2) if say it had monopoly or other long games with different rules in different areas and

    3) if it made you play by the rules so no one cheats.

I vaguely remember there being Monopoly or uno on regular game systems that I think went online, so I'm assuming this is nothing new lol

Just made me think given the holidays if a coffee table arcade with plenty of room would be more welcoming to sit around and play :960450673_cheersemoji:

They do a lot of machines, usually themed, ie a Mortal Kombat machine with MK 1-3. They also sell optional extras like raisers and stools for them, all marked to match that machine. I don't have one, but they offer a lot in the US, and even sell a few in Australia fwiw.

  2. Sure, it'd be expensive now, but you're lucky enough not to be doing it now. It seems like maybe you're on information overload: you're hearing and seeing about record-breaking prices and it's discouraging you, but you're failing to take into account that this stuff doesn't really affect you all that much in the first place anyway, and it's just bad news dragging you down by association.

Pare all that back, and I think you'll refind that missing sparkle in your collecting life.

    Sincerely yours,

    Agony Aunt Craig.

  3. Netflix is going up on price AGAIN in Australia for the Premium plan, by $3 to $22.99 a month, starting in a few days, I believe. Netlflix only started here around 2017, and we've seen constant price increases, and frankly it's starting to become unreasonable (yes, still cheap compared to cable, but considering the number of competitors, it's not a positive PR look).

For comparison, Disney Plus is $11.99, but of course as a new service I'd expect it to also rise quickly.

  4. Still waiting for my BBTS package mailed end of August. I've contacted them, and other Australians are in the same predicament. Worse is that Australia Post has announced an auction of goods it 'couldn't deliver' over the last few months, so my box better not be in there.

Good news is I did order a Storm Collectibles Sub-Zero Unmasked, and he arrived the other day (he was ordered from a new store within Oz), and I placed another order for Raiden (don't really like the look of him that much, but you kinda need a Raiden, and I've found quite a few of Storm's figures look a lot better in-hand than they photograph) which should hopefully arrive next week, so it's not all gloom and doom.

  5. Don't forget the fun times where the forum banded together to take down someone who was drastically misusing CGC: there was the guy who was doing minor spine manipulations to up his grades (can remember his name offhand), and for a truly classic read, google Jason Ewert. That was a fun, formative event for the forums and the organisation themselves. I've been lurking since the Ewert thing got my attention via Rich Johnston, and wherever he was reporting from at the time, bringing it to the attention of the masses (I'd say he had a larger follower back then than today).

Words can't express how much I miss Mortal Kombat(s) 1-3, Rampage World Tour, the first two Gauntlet games, and the T2 arcade game.

Veering off the arcade side of things, though, Baldur's Gate, Morrowind, Fallout 1&2, and the Wizardry series have kept me on PC as an overall mainstay. I'll probably be skipping the PS5/XSX gen assuming this isn't the last, though. Some highlights that I definitely enjoyed on the PS4 were the Metro series, Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, RDR2, Witcher III, and Days Gone. Truly a wonderful decade for gaming the 2010s was.

There's a spark to classic games that will never be replicated, CAN never be replicated, but I will put in a good word for the modern Mortal Kombat games. Mk9-11 are a nice trilogy of games. 11 in particular looks stunning (especially considering it's still only using Unreal 3) and has a lot to it. Just get the Ultimate version, which has all the expansions and KPs, and can be had for a very good price now, and you're set.

MKXL still holds up playwise, and can be had dirt cheap if that's your pleasure. You may prefer its roster too, personal preference.

  7. This is a bit of a rarity, but I've never played a GTA game. Totally by my own choice, but they've just never interested me, and their reputation for being such a things for tweens (even though it's meant for adults, of course) hasn't exactly helped make me interested in those facets of the latest one, makes me perceive the game as a bit try hard (plus the fact it's from like 2013 is also a bit of a turnoff right now, when I want to show off my Series X, and GTA 5 doesn't exactly dazzle).

I think the only Rockstar game I've ever played has been RDR2, and I haven't put much time into that yet, either.

    Nope...

Have you ever seen that heart-warming photo of those elderly gents having a garden celebration in their micro citrus orchard?

It brought a tear to my eye, it did.

You should DEFINITELY look that one up. 2c

Oh it definitely is not advanced animation. I kept thinking Ben10 or shows like that.

But the story comes together cleanly for me.

Yeah, it was the animation that stopped me from getting into the story, which seemed liked it was going to be decent enough, with a couple of potentially fresh ideas for the Mecha genre. I tried, but just couldn't do it.

I have the season on bluray, and only paid about $12 for it, so it's no big loss, but I'd like to try again, see if I can get past what bugged me first time round about the janky animation, and see if I can just settle into the groove of it and just enjoy myself.

Mockery, of course. But I thought it was. Who the Hell cares who he is or isn't? As long as YOU weren't burned, right? Why is everyone suddenly so concerned about other peoples welfare? I imagine everyone here has been involved in some shady S*&T in their lives only they know about. Funny how other peoples shady S*&t is always worse than ours ever was.

That's how fools become wise men. getting burned a few times. Consider the shysters a public service.

What a terrible view of life, and your fellow man.
