  1. I’m happy to have this great underwater horror cover heading my way.
  2. I think that it was only the waning draw of superheroes after the end of WW2 that made publishers look toward books with only one theme. Crime and western themes predates the war but it was only in 1947/48 that you saw romance, war and horror really become the sole focus of a title.
  3. I’m enjoying reading this thread. Please allow me to muddy the water a little more with Yellowjacket Comics #7 (January, 1946). This was the first time in comics that a recurring host introduced a horror story:
  4. Fun thread with a lot of great books-the champ of the bunch was that Tomb of Terror 16. Thanks for an awesome thread and congrats to all!
  5. Those cover colors are beautiful! What an amazing find-thanks for sharing it with us.
  6. That’s the only book I have more copies of, lol. How many does it take before I worry about being a hoarder...?
  7. Li’l bit, lol. I have a 4.5, 5.5 and a resto 6.0. This one is 2nd highest (one of two), and the owner of the 8.0 isn’t selling anytime soon.
  8. I'm beyond happy to have scored this copy of All Star Comics 3 that arrived in the mail today.
  9. Sweet score on the National 7. Congrats! That's one I was gunning for hard until last week when I picked up a GA key. Sweet book and tough in any grade, it's a beauty!
  10. That one is off to a nice start after being up for less than a day!
  11. It would be interesting to see, especially at a high profile feeding frenzy auction!
  12. CoC 23 was always a book I would pick up anytime I found it priced well in vg or better. I knew it was the “missing” Harvey gore key to go with the other 3 titles (WT25, ToT5 and BCM50), but I’m still shocked at how it has skyrocketed in the past year or so.
  13. Love that cover! Congrats-I've been after a nice copy of this one for a bit and there aren't many out there.
  14. This is seriously the coolest cover I've never seen! I'm a huge fan of underwater covers and crocodiles. Stunning!
