  1. Several boxes of price guides and collecting supplies: Barbies & Baseballs in a curio: 5 11” GI Joe dolls with all the gear and stands (I would not be surprised if the boxes were somewhere in the basement):
  2. Plates and other glassware: Videos & Records: Framed artwork: A Himmel(?) doll still in the box:
  3. Crates of cards, many in binders: Probably my favorite items, 3 Mint condition Marvel Value Stamp Books (Series B):
  4. Sports stuff: Yeah, also unopened packs of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars: (many with receipts): Boxes and bags full of unopened cars:
  5. Hey All, Looking for some advice on an estate of superhero merchandise and other memorabilia from a gentleman that passed away. Visited the estate Thursday and was shocked at the magnitude of the collection. It consumes much of the house, basement and garage and is a very “comprehensive” accumulation. Several file cabinets & curio cabinets, around 40-50 of those large tupperware containers and more merchandise is arranged on every horizontal surface available and mounted to the walls. There are some comic books, but it’s paltry compared to the sheer volume of material. Was there for 90 minutes and barely scratched the surface trying to take pictures. A decent percent has receipts or other providence. Family is looking to move it as a lot, there’s too much to individually compute. I have no idea how to help this family out, they are NOT collectors and after you see the size of this, it has taken over the house. Here’s the tour, starting with the dining room: He liked Superman, had two of these: Several of these still in the box: Old Mid-Ohio Con gear: Lots of coins & pins (many in displays):
  6. Hi Bronty My date for the SW1 was wrong in the earlier post, it should have been Dec 1958. ST67 has a cover date of Feb 59, just a few months after the SW1. The JIM50 was in-between those with a Jan 59 cover date ( I have a handy spreadsheet of the timeline for all the PHM titles & issues.) Sorry - don't want to hijack this thread. -bc
  7. So cool! Can you educate a noobie and tell me which is the first and last issue among those 164? Gladly answer those questions The first PHM is always a bit of a discussion, but the Strange Worlds 1 (Dec 59), sort of starts the peak era. Last one is Tales of Suspense 38 (Feb 63) - TOS 37 & 38 are the only PHMs that made it into 1963 - all the others converted to heroes or were cancelled. If you really want to fall asleep fast, check out the "Pre-Hero Marvel !!!" thread over in the Silver Age forum. -bc
  8. We are opening a new store in Ft Myers on June 1st and will offer a pull service and most likely a discounted one. Hopefully it will be worth the trip from Naples Hero Trader hero trader Just want to give a shout out to Hero Trader - nice clean store, good selection, great knowledgeable people ! Stopped by today while visiting relatives in sunny Florida and had a great time ! -bc
  9. Love the diversity of all the goals ! I've retained the same focus obsession since 2009, trying to acquire all of the 164 Pre-Hero Marvel issues in as high a grade as I can afford to add to the Vault : I've added several more since that pic, but still have a long way to go. So I can probably just copy this post for the "Goals of 20xx" threads for years to come -bc

  14. Now that's some holiday goodness right there Rick ! The TOS33 in 9.4 is simply outrageous Love the mermaid cover as well on the ST40 ! Never seen a JIM43 in 1/2 that condition. And of course, to the TTA9 in CGC8.5, Simply savory books to salivate over on a Saturday morning ! -bc
  15. Saw it and thanks, done being spendy for the weekend after the TTA34 and this one : Snagged that for a very reasonable price - figure it would help "dollar cost average" the two purchases -bc
  16. Thanks for the kind words all ! The background check was the easy part, compared to the cavity search And BAF, watching you collect several decades of Marvel comics has kept me going on this tiny trek Now I just have to go sell multiple body parts so I can get a #27 to match the set... -bc
  17. Saturday Night group shot! Other than a decent #27, got the end of the Tales to Astonish run covered: Yep, hunting for an upgrade to #22, just grabbed the #34 off eBay today. Think a bunch of these used to be Korvac's (thank you for parting with them). -bc
