  1. Well that Cap is not the best example I prefer his New Mutants- Xforce stuff.
  2. Pointing out some of his not so great creations like Troll does not diminish the fact he was a very important part of comics in the 90's and today. Deadpool is very different from Deathstroke and is a HUGE part of pop culture today. Whether he was inspired by Deathstroke of another character does not really matter. If you want to do that, we can probably list several characters that might have taken inspiration from another character. As far as Lee having mind blowing art??? Speak for yourself because I %100 disagree on that claim.
  3. Well Stan should'nt touch anything from NM87 and on since he had nothing to do with that...Todd on the other hand is extremely over rated. Love his Spiderman though. All his other characters look funky. Spawn was not bad. Just my 2-cents.
  4. Liefeld's art may not be perfect, but you cant lie...it took the 90's by storm. Say what you want but his style kicked ! And yes I do think his contribution is more then that of Lee. All Lee does is draw other peoples characters (art is over-rated at that), his creator owned titles for Image where blah and his run being the head guy at DC sucks imo. Liefeld created Deadpool and Xforce. Who did Lee create that is at that level?
  5. Me and my boys love checking out Hotwheels whenever we hit Target or Walmart. At $1 we almost always end up getting a couple. They leave them in package most the time but I always open and display mine. Just takes up less space. They like imports and Batman stuff I pretty much only collect the Ford Bronco...fun stuff!
  6. Anyone know what those pages sold for? Just want to get a rough idea at what I'm looking at to spend if I decide to track a Rob piece like that down.
  7. So everyone talking like Lee and McFarlane are more bang for your buck, speak for yourself. I would prefer a Liefeld sig/remark/sketch over those other guys any day. In my opinion Lee is super overrated, and like Liefeld says, has no keys lol. McFarlane is good but not my cup of tea. As far as prices go, I do feel they are starting to get outrages...they are starting to hit the likes of super star athletes. I think Joe Montana charges around $200. I personally am not big on putting sharpie to my important comics, but this being a mass produced 90's comic makes it no big deal. This is more of a keep sake of one my favorite characters and favorite artist/creators of my childhood. I'm bummed I did not make it in time for a remark so chiesel will have to do. Cant wait to get my NM #87 signed, pressed, graded and slabbed.
  8. Thanks a lot! And yes I agree these are really cool pieces…and for me personally I love to see art when it’s still in its pencil stage 👍
  9. Still can’t afford an original art piece but did grab this prelim from Rob’s last WhatNot stream. Rob was my favorite artist growing up and New Mutants 87 was probably my favorite cover from the 90’s. Anyway, this prelim is for Cable issue 158 and love seeing it on the art wall!
  10. I prefer the the Trade Dress, but once in a blue moon the virgin seems to work better.
  11. Agreed! Eastman and Laird together would be monumental...they have to make it happen at least 1 last time for the fans!
  12. Not a better feeling than doing something nice that helps make someone's day!
  13. I agree with you. If you can press out a crease and re-grade the book like it never existed, then why cant you get a sharpie the would completely cover up a ball point pen sig, and pretend that old sig never existed? Only make sense right.
  14. Oh man passing on a first print for $800 would forever haunt me
  15. Here is mine. I was expecting around a 4.0-4.5. I’m not complaining though the 6 was a good surprise and
  16. That's a really nice looking 4.0! Looks better than mine that just came back a 6.0
  17. So the one with the crooked label also had cracks on 3 of the 4 sides of the slab. It was a book that came back a couple months ago from the Kevin Eastman Ronin signing. I reached out to your customer support about 2 weeks ago ( I was made aware that it could be fixed by another user here) but I was told I was out of luck since I did not contact within 14 days. Is this correct?
  18. Wish I would have seen this thread sooner. Had a couple slabs come cracked, 1 had a crooked label, and another had a mis-spelled artist name in the description. Couple books look like they had damage from handling ( I need to start taking pictures of my books before sending them). I'm pretty much stuck with them unless I pay for re-holders. No thanks. Like the title says, where is the Quality Control at CGC? They really need to step there game up. I should not have to deal with sending books back for re-pairs after waiting those terrible wait times.
  19. For me im done with pressing. I have been paying the extra fees to CGC for my last several submissions with not very good results. Most stayed the same or not much better. Some even appear to look worst then before lol. So that being said, from now on I will try and buy highest grade possible im done with pressing. Just not worth the extra cash and wait times.
  20. No nothing. I'm so bummed...even paid for pressing. I only seen 1 tiny crease that I thought was for sure pressable. I guess not. Oh well. You win some you lose some.
  21. Im so sad just found out my Star Wars Visions NYCC #1 got the ol 9.6 grade from CGC
