  1. Everything Marvel and DC suck nowadays. Actually other publishers have kind of followed their lead. They have gone away from what has made them great after all these years. Instead of catering to the true fans they have tried to cater to everyone to the point that we do not recognize the characters/stories we once loved. I don't buy many comics now for that reason. Outside of The Last Ronin, I have no interest in reading any or the modern stuff. I have found a new joy in collecting original art work from my favorite artist and the occasional hard cover of past great stores. Unless comic shops pivot, they will suffer because many of the diehards don't come in anymore to buy the modern stuff. All I see now are re-sellers digging around trying to find a variant cover or spec book to flip
  2. Do you know what titles will be interlocking? Those are the ones I plan on following.
  3. Good points up there. Art Adams is very good and yes the style of art from the late 80's and early 90's was a fresh take at the time. Even though it was very un-realistic and exaggerated it was very dynamic and exciting. To this day I still enjoy it even though you can definitely point out some flaws.
  4. I felt the same way about this cover. I would pay retail $5. Thats is. Actually even then I would not buy it because I have zero interest in it
  5. Wow those are all some of the worst things I have ever seen Makes me wonder who signed off on this stuff... I think I could have been a cover artist after looking at this !
  6. Agreed. Todd did a great Spiderman but his human characters looked awful. Crazy how he never good called out considering how much hate Liefeld gets.
  7. Yup and the fact that it took forever for them to drop the new animated season just kind of took the steam out of the train for me. I tried to watch season 2 the other day and I was just not hyped for it at all. In fact I felt bored and ended up just watching YouTube videos
  8. So apparently the new GI Joe series that comes out today will tie in with these books. Are we just going to talk about that here or will it get its own thread? Anyhow, really looking forward to picking up GI Joe today.
  9. Same. But overall the writing just got atrocious. The direction they decided to take that show in ran it straight into a dumpster fire. Should have stuck to what made it great to begin with.
  10. Met him couple years back at a local show and he did a sketch cover for me for a great price. Cool dude.
  11. I used to feel the same but as time goes on, the cover for 2 and 3 are just as awesome!
  12. Wow congrats! What an amazing piece! Definitely a special one
  13. I have observed everything is down when it comes to collectibles. Since the world opened up again, I guess most people prefer to spend money on other things. I have observed that most new collectors now days don't seem to have the connection with cards and comics like we did. When I was a kid we collected for fun. Read the stats on back of cards, traded them, enjoyed them. Hours of entertainment. Same with comics. Now everything is about 9.8 and can it be flipped for profit. Just no love for the hobby. Nobody enjoys base cards. Only the hits. Nobody reads comics. Only want spec books to put in slabs. It really is sad
  14. My opinion, I feel it would be pretty sweet to have Rob's sig along side Stan on that NM98. Just does not look right to me with Stan by himself. I don't believe he had anything to do with that character's creation. I understand you would lose the label, but that being said, or these labels really that special? I am new to the custom label thing. My Rob label from his CGC signing is my first custom label, and I would definitely crack it if need be to add another sig, for example if McFarlane comes back. I mean at the end of the day its just a label. You would also lose it if at any point you need to re-slab due to damage or something.
  15. That would be sick! Oh and maybe a cigar in his mouth!
  16. No, you are right. Looks great as is. It would be awesome though to have Rob write Deadpool vs. Wolverine in some sick comic book style font along the bottom.
  17. Thanks! Ya I was very please with his placement. You can always count on Rob to add something cool to the cover with his sigs and remarks.
  18. Wonder if that was the sketch or remark option?
  19. That is really cool! You looking to add any more sketches to that?
  20. Got my baby in today. I know it’s just an 8.5 but this is my original copy from 6th grade. So holds sentimental value.
  21. Yea that lighting that struck during the pandemic, just like covid, is something we might not ever experience again in our lifetime. If you were looking to maximize profit and did not cash in during this time you might have missed the boat. At least as far as getting those insane prices most collectibles where hitting. Most things have come back down to earth and its probably going to settle there just like before.
