  1. Lets get board names so we can put face to name I second Woowoo's suggestion. Would be great to attach names to those smiling faces! (Looks like someone was nursing his margarita ? )
  2. Planet 62 -- Futura by Enrico Bagnoli. Great stuff from Enrico! That's all, folks!
  3. Planet 62 -- Mysta of the Moon splash page by Charles A. Winter. (Last original Mysta in the Planet run.)
  4. Planet 62 -- Lost World splash page by George Evans. (GCD Notes: "Although this is signed Evans, it appears that he is working with someone on the pencils. His figures are much leaner and more elegant than he normally draws them.")
  5. Planet Comics # 62 -- Doolin cover. Splashes to follow.
  6. A lot of poetry in motion on that cover. And she's still holding onto those vital documents!
  7. Love this book, congrats! Wow! Where'd you find that? It's totally cool! Never seen that title.
  8. Great group shot! That's a shot across the bow of any collection Yep that is one heck of a pic!!! Nice work those are some great funny books!! Gulp! Thine comic cup runneth over! Astounding!
  9. Awesome book Rick. Hope to see it in a sales thread some day! Fun Fact: You would be surprised to know that at least one in every 10 books I buy has never been in a sales thread. Lovin' the Jumbo! Great book Rick!! And thx for the Sheena page! Nice of "Bob" to say, "You're still a woman... Ha! Ha!" Kinda stating the obvious.
  10. I was tempted to upgrade my copy to the bright blue colors, but decided to save my $$ for a rainy day, and there seem to be a lot of rainy days coming soon! Plus, it seemed like it wasn't a great version of a 5.5 imho.
  11. Anyone the winner of that electric blue copy of Planet 19 on eBay last night?
  12. These books look so much better sitting in mylars. +1 for the book! +10 for the Mylar!
  13. Wow, nice books. Comics bring a ray of sunshine to opening up the mail box. I know the feeling. Nice Blue Beetle's! FOXY BOOKS YOU GOT THERE!!!!! Very nice! Interesting -- Fox Feature Syndicate really seems to have cornered the market in comic book covers showing strong men busting, shredding, and ripping their way through metal-girded walls, and popping into the room just in time to catch the baddie! Could probably start a whole new thread titled "Show us your heroes punching their way into a room!" --> for mere mortals, one example of how to break through a wall:
  14. Sorry, my bad, not sure where I got $4k from. Anyhow: Gino! It had to be you! Always you! Well done Sir. Thank you good sir and no worries Jay just friendly interesting conversation!! You and I share very similar interests and you're a great dude so we're ALWAYS good!! Sidenote - Just to mention if you go back in this thread which i've combed through Many times The Legend himself JB said Weird 20 was probably the hardest to secure of the run and who am I not to trust him!! This was the only Weird book published in 42' (January) which once again we already have established is my current passion. Everyone holding onto a copy can thank me later when it comes time to sell haha!! I want to be known as the man that defies GPA and could never recoup his initial investment just bought what he loved and enjoyed every minute of it. Boy i Sound WEIRDer and WEIRDer with every letter I type...How fitting??!! You are a true credit to these boards, and a gentleman to boot! Guess I better start from page 1 of the Fox thread; looks like there's a lot to be learned in those historic pages.

  16. I was casually following the bidding for Weird 20. With only 3 bidders in the game it had already hit ~$1900 (with BP); then a 4th bidder steps in later... and the final hammer at $4000+ for a book at GD- 1.8!! Looks like I can probably forget about completing that run.
  17. Awsome book Gino. I think I have all the other late issue bondage covers from this title but have never had the opportunity to get a copy of this one in any shape. Thanks for the splashes too! Hey Gino, I'm a bit late to this celebration, but WOW! what a cool book! You really scored with those high-quality interior pages. I love the splashes; wouldn't mind more, at your leisure of course...
  18. My all time favorite of all your comics i've seen over the years. Absolutely beautiful copy. I'll keep looking for one. If you find two, please let me know! Incredible book. Seems like that lady (in a most awkward position I might add) doesn't stand a chance.
  19. LOVE it! Congrats! Great place to start!!!! Welcome!!! Never seen this title! Superb pick up. Ace is the place...! Thank you! Yeah, it was a bit of a discovery for me as well. I also have a bit of a fetish for October publishing month books as well. Wow! Never heard about a "month" fetish. I guess there's probably a fetish for just about anything in the vast universe of the funny books.
  20. C2E2 is now just 88 days, 11 hours, 49 minutes, and 12 seconds! How fast time flies!
  21. Actually, Dan, bring the Planets to C2E2!!! Just 88 days, 13 hours, 33 minutes, and 24 seconds. Wait, 18 seconds... Wait, 4 seconds... ... Awesome books!
  22. LOVE it! Congrats! Great place to start!!!! Welcome!!! Never seen this title! Superb pick up. Ace is the place...!
  23. Striking cover ( and topless women ) good eye. Underrated gold there . A favorite of mine from the title! Badger: that's spectacular!! I can bare-ly contain my enthusiasm!
  24. Yes, but C2E2 has been in April most years I think. A lot of cons move here and there a month or up or back depending on the year... the reasons why are way above me. Generally it'll be driven by availability of the venue. And probably also price. Chicago in April is a relatively safer bet for half-decent weather than March, and thus more attractive to out-of-towners. Price may fluctuate accordingly. Good point, the April date is a safer investment. But if there wasn't a vacancy they don't get a choice. True dat!
