    dtacoll has been listing a lot of nice golden age stuff on ebay that prompted me to check their "Items Sold" and sure enough it makes plenty of sales at what I thought were pretty high prices. But this Hollywood Memorabilia guy you found can't be selling anything, and I am now forced to rethink what I regard as "high" prices. Heh.

    Definitely sounds like a studio/company that wears different faces in public and private. South Park had episode(s) where Mickey Mouse -behind the scenes- is portrayed as a mean, foul-mouthed, brutal enforcer of Disney's strict policy of selling sex to pre-teens (via pop personalities like Jonas Bros., Brittany Spears or whichever) while pretending promote "purity". Hilarious stuff. But "Mouseschwitz" certainly tops that for imagery of Disney's evil personality behind a façade of family-oriented goodness and niceness. Heh.

    Reds have all turned to orange from fading - though not sure if it's from sun or lights or some of both. Here's one I found on net without the fading - too lazy to pull and scan my nice raw copy. Sadly, to show the right coloring I picked a copy sold by that scam artist POS 'all things comics' with obvious color touch to untrained eye that he screwed the new owner with by claiming "just a small amt of color touch." But the reds are all there. I think Hulk 181 are now selling for well over $200 a point (so a 5.0 is well priced at 1000). Your LCS probably has a 5.5 or less at 1300 if it's still sitting there.

    Don't sweat it there's a lot of built up tension during holiday season, and anyway "$15 shipped" seems a very good price for such a pretty book.

    Yep- concur. I guess we have a year to get out. You could of course do your best to reduce S.A.L.T. or you might concede that one as unwinnable - after 48 years in L'town and Wantagh, I gave Albany the finger and took my pile and moved to Texas. Seven years I've been visiting family and each time I find new nickel & diming (ubiquitous stop light cameras, 3% surcharge for CC's added at the pump, hike in commuter tax).

    You mean I completely gave up racing to be the first 'take' because of losing a book that wasn't even posted? Hrumph. Yeah, I couldn't find it when I went back through SS's thread, and couldn't find it in Dreamtoreal's thread, so I expect that I'm just losing my mind. That or I confused it with a different issue I was after that got taken milliseconds after it was posted. Anyway, thanks!, I double-checked this one, and it's definitely a 56. ; )

    Have 11 of them and never spent more than 150 for one until now, missed my chance (late take) in the soft serve thread for this issue #56. Mainly lower end copies to spread my dollars a bit further.

    AF 15 has settled down since I married it. I know, right? Six months ago half the board activity seemed to be about either IH 181 or AF 15.

    Gotta be careful, though, last year I won a DR. X prize, a marvel masterworks volume reprinting Marvel Mystery Comics, and it compelled me to buy the surrounding volumes to read the (reprint) run of #1-20. You never know where participating in the thread might lead.
