  1. I used to buy a lot from c4less, max out their shipping (i.e. 6 or more books) for a thousand or two, until around mid-year 2016, but I'm always looking for value/bang for my buck. They're great, just no longer present me with value for my often cheap a s s .
  2. Right, Wrightson is awesome and I have all his early Marvel horror including where he drew himself into the book. Maybe a 9.4+ Hulk 197 isn't insanely priced, cool cover for Wrightson. And I think I have all of Adams' marvel work and Bat 227 and the complete Deadman in SA, so I hear you on that too. And my other dipping the toe into pre-silver age, in past year I picked up a sampling of what I think's included in PCH: Haunt Fear 16, Two Fisted 41 and (probably not) Weird Sci and Sci-Fi.
  3. S'okay, he has a couple of clones, right? And Ben Reilly is still out there in Scarlet, no?
  4. I decided the same thing a year and half ago about AF15, and last month gave away my only copy of HOS92 as a prize in Andy's green eggs grading contest (missing half the splash page and major razor cut on a copy that otherwise looked VG+). Fought the urge to give into the mania, and just switched hunt for any of several other things that don't present the same possible downside risk. There's so much great stuff out ther, imo, could see splurging on a copy of Startling 49 or something with that kind of mad money, though my only GA is a few Planets atm.
  5. Fast pay on a large buy of a big lot of silver age, very easy to work with, a fine transaction, thanks Eric. : )
  6. I've a similar pair but weaker copies in both cases - a low grade reader I got in a great lot here on boards a while back, from bighairjer selling for his friend Nick, and I so admired Wally Wood superhero work it prompted me to go buy a nicer one on ebay, and ended up with what's probably the lowest possible example of a 'high grade', a nice looking F/VF copy.
  7. Geez, I'm seeing a nice 5.5, maybe a 6.0, based on bottom staple and spine up to top staple, a few stress lines visible, plus the minor stain on back.
  8. I have it at 7.0 except for the bottom staple detached from cover, so my guess would be 5.5. Not sure about the cost for that staple.
  9. As mentioned, they're nicer than originally described. Pics/scans for more of those chosen to be 'featured' as representative samples, fourteen to go (here are eight of them): 133 5.0+, 140 7.0, 150 5.5 (scratch), 158 6.5, 160 7.5, 161 4.5, 162 5.0 (tear bottom spine), 165 easy 5.5 ("o" on back), 166 6.5, 168 6.0, 169 6.5, 170 5.0 (VF with top stain), 180 7.0, 190 6.5+. [and planned to include a GD copy of 102 (3 extra unneeded staples), and VGish copies of 193 & 194, so I might as well mention it.]
  10. And finally, my ebay ID is same as here, grebal https://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=grebal&ftab=AllFeedback A few early issue are missing chips at top/rt. edge or corner (129, 136, 143) and there is one date stamp and no writing. EDIT to add: Grades are closer to 6.0-7.0 (not 5s to 6.5); add grades and pics for the early ones, 'keys,' and issues ending in zero: 127 6.5, 129 6.5-, 130 6.5 (two maverick pages and small tears), 132 7.0, 133 5.0+, 140 7.0, 150 5.5 (scratch), 158 6.5, 160 7.5, 161 4.5, 162 5.0 (tear bottom spine), 165 easy 5.5 ("o" on back), 166 6.5, 168 6.0, 169 6.5, 170 5.0 (VF with top stain), 180 7.0, 190 6.5+.
  11. Complete “silver age” Thor 127 - 192 last 20 cent issue (excluding the key first issue #126). 66 issue run. $1010 by paypal, shipped. GRADES raw and unpressed. Two-thirds of books range 5.0 to 6.5 mostly FN and up, maybe 10 dip to 4.5, rest range up to VF +/-. Thor 165 is min. 5.5. With VF/NM overall eye appeal with a 3” fold (at Thor’s wrist), surface wear and scuff at logo box, weird bindery looking line across, and minor edge wear at top (if 'pressed' would guess CGC grade at 6.5 it’s so fresh. I’m low balling overall with this lot). [did the page counts, all are complete with no cutouts, staples secure in and out, no rust.] RETURNS The entire collection I got is intact, take 2 weeks to look them over and I'll pay return shipping if dissatisfied on condition. Lifetime returns on undisclosed restoration. Short story- bought this batch maybe summer of ’16 when I was still a guy looking to do “upgrades”, decided I have better things to do with my time and money (like buy first copies). Selling at my cost, I did not cherry pick for my own collection, this is whole run that I bought last year, intact. $990 ($15 ea for the 66 book run), and $20 toward shipping and fees (est at $40) = $1010 selling price. $80 CREDIT AVAILABLE - I still need issues 128, 135, 177 and 179 for my own run, and so subtract $20/ea. for an instant “profit” if you let me keep all four of those issues. [so, only $930 by paypal; plus I’ll include 4 more other silver age Thors below #193 in VG min. so you still get 66 comics.] PACKAGE: shipped economy, very securely packaged six bundles of 11 comics each, with bubbles surrounding the six cardboard sandwiches. On request I’ll take pics of a handful, unbagged, glare pics like the #165 if you like.

  13. Like the guy said in the last Mad mag thread, crickets here while on ebay much more popular.
  14. Writing (or sigs) on the cover is defacement and a detraction, imo. But I guess sigs by the cover artist are not as obnoxious as I used to find them. And I actually found a book in a box from the 70s or possibly early 80s with this one, so I can appreciate what some people must like about them. Stan's the man, after all.
  15. Here're more takeits, please. P7 Challengers of the Unknown 86 Challengers of the Unknown 85 Challengers of the Unknown 84 Amazing Spider-Man Annual 18 P6 Challengers of the Unknown 87
  16. A few real sweet books arrived in great shape, well packaged and quickly. Thanks a lot DtD!
