  1. All three are pretty hot. The Thor 166 and FF 66 are long since dropped from par with their neighbor book, but that's well known. Only mention it because it's the irritation of change (I tended to buy copies of these in pairs, although on the bright side it means I have the key too). Wouldn't be surprised if we're seeing a peak in Warlock popularity/speculation that will last until there is confirmation of Warlock's role in the Avengers pair of movies. I've only been observing the correlation between movies and market a year, but also did a lot of reading here, and it seems the slope downward in prices hits several months before the "event" movie. Obviously it's fluid, and the top' may last a few or even several months (2-5?). E.g. for clarity, I sold a VG/F Doc 169 six months before the movie for 100 and three months later could be found around half that. And Warlock's still in the 'soul gem' spec phase, which probably means it could go on a while . . .
  2. The change in Ebay gross sales in Collectibles>Comics year by year, historically, would be very interesting as a metric for overall health of the market, even if you have to adjust for the heritages and upstarts and competitors like cc or clink etc. Has anyone ever reported such metrics?
  3. Hi Jeff, wish I needed a 119. I'm getting close to my silver & bronze run, only need 91, 92, 94, 95, 128, 135, 177, 179 and one in the eighties (plus my 83 is a golden record repr.). Started a kudos thread for you after our transaction last month. Good luck, very fairly priced imo.
  4. If he doesn't do the recap, he's been very good about marking them "sold" in his first post with the book.
  5. So, is someone dumber because they make an unnoticed but obvious (arguably bad) pun? Cause I'm getting dumber every day lately it seems.
  6. Now I feel bad because I have a voldy copy, I waited a full minute, and I'd let you have in a heartbeat if not for October's strict rule on the topic.
  7. Thanks bud. Back at you for like fifty you nabbed before me recently. ; ) But then I'm always glad to see you win because you were among my first buyers here.
  8. Paypal had heavily discounted fees when transfers were funded with bank balance or paypal balance, and market-normal fees when they acted as cc/payment card industry access. Boy they became pigs when that eliminated that discount to charge full credit-card level transfer fees for moving a bank balance or money in a paypal account. Probably visa and mastercard have buried in the four-thousand page vendor agreement a similar prohibition on subscribers using cash discounts?, even they don't know any more. Interesting tangent: last time I visted family in NY I noticed pay-at-the-pump gas station now add cc surcharge to pass fee to consumer, which used to be verboten. To police new policy, paypal will probably need hire a lot more people for its compliance staff to match one for one all the new customer relations you'd hope they'd need, unless it just relies on the rats. Someone ratting out the violator (um, excuse me, 'whistleblowing'), the same way the IRS and state sales tax collectors generally find out. Maybe they'll actually peek into or audit the listings of larger ebayers.
  9. In case the banner ads generate revenue for the CGC board, I started clicking through to one of the ebay ads every time I drop by. I don't even look at the product, which is easy as part of the filters I've developed over decades of studiously avoiding paying attention to people trying to sell me stuff on the net. I'm not a fanboy of cgc, but after all I buy some books here, and even sell on occasion, so what's the big deal to click a couple of times (in case that was part of the point of new board, moving the banner ebay ad from bottom or lower right edge to top of screen to generate advertising revenue). I hate the new design, I've mostly lurked since the change, think this is my third post, including a "take" in the sale forum. Some of the features are pretty good, and the beta color skin they added, and deletion (hopefully to become permanent) of that large obtrusive CGC banner at the top shows that CGC is at least trying to make this a less annoying process in at least some respects. And even if driven solely by the desire for revenues, what is this, Cuva, what should we expect from a capitalist enterprise? [e.g. I'm far more put off by the failure of CGC to add a disclosure note on label that a book was pressed by CCS which I'm beginning to think are getting better grades than appropriate, and whether or not that's true still presents a conflict of interest.]
  10. Thanks, didn't know those were the dates, in retrospect my comment was silly given the timing -no way marvel's editors would've made that kind of political statement given the nature of the mid-60s..
