  1. I think the real answer is a more prosaic reason- both characters are played by the same actor (which could also explain why they always use a body-double for Cersei nude scenes).
  2. Thank you Jerry! Received my prize from KryptoMayor for recent grading contest, comic arrived in great shape, super quick, and safely packaged.
  3. Don't know if it's still ebay policy, but in the past I can confirm that getting e.g. 5 positive feedbacks from the same person only counts as 1 more in feedback count (i.e. feedback count only includes first 1 per ebay member). I can only guess on other Q, and I agree with you, the Seller probably had another account if, out of the gate in only their first mos., they already accumulated that many positives/feedback count. Either they transferred an existing account and changed ID (is it even possible?) or they were already set up as ebay seller and just started brand new with a massive listing and get that score by fulfilling over 100 transactions in first few week (entirely possible).
  4. Nice books. Friendly note: if your threads disappear, it's because rule number yada says only one active thread at a time (in Bronze Age, e.g.).
  5. Looks like a sub-fold, so, 5.5 maybe stretched to 6.0 on best day? Can't say for sure how sub-creases are treated presently, when they only break color on back.
  6. What amazes me is that every time someone sells a comic book, there was also a buyer for the comic.
  7. In comics, in the 70s, 90s and early 00s (the times I did most of my buying), that describes me. Started out accumulating comics when a relatively poor kid, and then conditioned by overstreet to (wrongly) consider low/mid grades a comparatively good buy (my early years mass accumulating when the ratio was 1:2:3 for GD, FN, NM). Even now, when I recently bought Avengers 1 & 4 to complete my run to 200, I bought a slabbed 3.5 and 4.5. So I agree w/ you in principle. But in light of the "keys collector" and dearth of run collectors and completists, I come to view low/mid grade commons as a separate, sub-market, in contrast to keys and high grades.
  8. Probably accurate forecast for low/mid-grade commons. But people have for at least a decade been projecting a dire drop in comic book demand as baby boomers retire, and die off, and as a long-time market observer/punter, just as often when something becomes popular consensus the forecasts turn out to be universally wrong (the commodity price bubble that burst about a decade ago, at the time, had near-universal consensus by "professionals" that e.g. light sweet oil would never see below 60 bbl again). The "movie boom" will be quoted as the reason common knowledge proved wrong the past decade, and nobody knows for sure what might be the next excuse for "oops, my bad."
  9. Put me down for 6.5 too, unless there's something latent/hidden.
  10. Prize #16: ASM 36 9/11 Tribute if available. Don't have it. Sorry I'm late, thanks to Krypto Mayor !
  11. Scans of the two nicer/more valuable magazines in the magazine lot prize I listed. Actually a good deal nicer than "FN."
  12. bosco685 Now, who revealed something without spoiler warnings? phobalicious bottom p 14 Spoiler ... No need to fight on who's riding /spoiler This ruined it for me - it's why I'm done with this thread. Starting . . . now.
  13. +1 + another It was only on back cover, and looked really super, must have been.
  14. Very interesting info, NoMan, thanks for sharing it. It reminds me of a comedy episode of X-Files called "Jose Chung's From Outer Space," which included a scene with the same events you described, played out - I kid you not - with the two MIB appearing to look exactly like Alex Trebek and Jesse Ventura.
  15. Heh, I've no idea of your actual height (despite the video reveal of the final round last year), but you be a giant on the boards (one that, e.g., might get away with posting a thread in Sale Forum that doesn't actually list a book for sale).
  16. Andy, I just started a thread in PGM section. I'd even suggest a thread in the GA/SA/BA/ to ferret out any players that haven't dropped into Comics General in a while, but things can get nasty in that sub-forum so I didn't risk it. [Now, a feller of your stature might be able to pull it off w/o fallout. ; )]

  20. Adams only did cover, story is pretty good, could be described as gothic romance. Spoiler free story note: Alfred's niece sends him a letter, alluding to trouble at a gothic mansion, which brings The Batman in to investigate. Better hope that you're not a hot chick born at midnight on all hallows eve . . .
  21. Darth Vader is Luke's father. Back ot, in most kingdoms killing a king precludes coronation for his spot (call it the 'hamlet rule') and Cersei's actions led to King Baratheon's death, which as I recall was publicized - although maybe everyone that heard her confession is now dead except the 'Nun.'
  22. Missed rule 7, oops, very sorry to see Shin won't be active this year.
