  1. Just got this back, glad to be back in the club but this is just a place holder.
  2. There's a comic store owner here in the New England area that presses books, he does it for customers, few months ago my brother sent him a text that his customer was super pissed at him cause his expensive books came back with grader notes of Pebbling. Store owner couldn't figure out what happened. I just shook my head.
  3. Pressman have ink on their hands and then check a book off the skid and put the book back This is my arm after working in the red unit
  4. I wanna say Comic Den or something, he had a booth across from ours and I saw them on the wall, I finally walked over and had a look at them and said screw it, I need more ASMs. I also got an 11 but it only came back a 3.5. Keeping the 5 and 16 though for now.
  5. This thread filled with bad advice is getting comical
  6. Picked these up in Baltimore this past October, glad they both came back blue with white pages
  7. Picked this up raw at the last Baltimore show, had to get it. Grade was expected.
  8. ComicConnect has a 5.5 that is ending tomorrow, let's see if it can break the last 115K GPA sale
  9. The plate cleaner takes the ink off the plate, yes it's possible the yellow plate was washed too, that's what it looks like, I wasn't working on the press when it happened haha either that it's a start up or shut down copy that got out the door.
  10. it looks like the red plate was being cleaned on the fly, (Plate cleaner is used on a rag) if it was a missing plate, there wouldn't be any red on the cover. This isn't a sun fade.
  11. Yeah, MCS makes it sound worse than it really is. Unless the case has full blow crack or deep scratch, "normal" scuffing shouldn't be noted.
  12. If you're overly descriptive about the case, then you're making the damage to the case worse than it might actually be. If the case isn't cracked or has eye sore scratches, I wouldn't mention anything about the case's condition. Some buyers just always plan on returning a slab if it isn't to their liking and expect perfection every time, even guys who want a return cause they didn't agree with how CGC graded the book, I block those mofo's, They aren't customers, they are liabilities. Perhaps MCS should keep track of a customer's return habits and see if they are being abused? Just like Amazon, too many returns = Ban. Just an idea.
  13. Walked into my LCS for the first time in a long time, Employee said "Did you hear about the golden age collection we just got"? I said no and he pulled out 3-4 short boxes to look through. This was in there, just got it back today.
  14. Nice sale, 6 months later you'll be saying to yourself..wow I should have hung onto it!
  15. Also CGC seems to find stains that no one else can see but them.
  16. Starting to think CGC puts light bends to cover on purpose because they see it's didn't go through CCS, so it'll entice you to have CCS press it for a higher grade.
