  1. Picked this up raw in Baltimore, Seller graded it a 7.5
  2. You should have been here 20 years ago, you would have loved it
  3. We need transparency otherwise the sale isn't legit. Price,(hopefully a fair price) and name of buyer needs to be posted as well as sales receipts and what method the buyer used to pay.
  4. There's scammers in everything from your local car mechanic to your local restaurant. People just have to bid what they feel comfortable paying and for some it's higher than market. I don't still don't see how knowing who each and every bidder is going to help the hobby, would want your real name listed on everything you've bid on? I know I wouldn't. I wouldn't care who's bidding on what as long as the sale goes through and it's legit. You talk of "fair price" since we are in an AF 15 thread, you still haven't answered my question of what's a fair price for an AF 15 9.6 ?
  5. Good luck trying to get AH's to "do the right thing" Bidders have every right to be anonymous if they choose to, privacy laws in place for a reason, They can do what they want, (as long as it's legal) Don't like it? Don't buy anything from an AH.
  6. AH's are a private company, they don't have to disclose anything
  7. I've seen plenty of buyers point out defects on books to try and get a discount, Don't complain to me about how CGC graded the book, Call the toll free 877 number and talk to them about it, Books in high grade are getting tougher to find and this stuff isn't getting any cheaper, the dealer priced the book what he needs to get out of it, Dealers don't hunt, spend, grade, wait 10 months to get it back so they can accept your "9.2" slab price on a 9.6 they got. If you didn't like the grade, pass and look for something else.
  8. Since the 7.0 went for 2.6m and now a buyer wants the 8.0 copy with no previous sales data, Doubling the last sale for a one of a kind 8.0 is a good place to start at least. I just bought a one of a kind pre code horror book in a 8.5, previous sale was $1650 for a 6.5, I offered double that price, seller said it was a fair offer but wanted another 1K since he wasn't in a big hurry to seller it...didn't think twice..here you go! If I was rich, with an opportunity to buy the Mile High Supes 1, I'd pay almost whatever it took to get it.
  9. I think I saw a youtube video of this from the comic doctor in canada. Doesn't surprise me CCS didn't even do the pressing
  10. What would you consider a "fair price" ? Some people want the book so bad they keep throwing money at it until they "win" People buy on emotion, that's they way it's always been, weather it's comics or buying new sneakers. I just bought a World's Finest 4.5 for $6500...Was that a "fair price? Am I a good person who overpayed?? Are you concerned about my finances? Do you need the website so they can email you the sales receipt for transparency? I think Bronze Johnny only needs to worry about Bronze Johnny
  11. I can't read the article since I'm not subscribed nor to I plan to but I don't buy million dollar comics, do you? I'm not worried about it. I'll let the angry mob worry about AH pricing of books they can't afford
  12. They aren't going to publicly show the sales receipt of payment received if that's what you want.
  13. he drew the coolest looking spider-man ever, more so than Ditko and Romita even though they are a better artist than Mcfarlane, He'd even tell you himself that they are
  14. I just think people are excited about the climbing AH prices as of late. Peoples eyes are glued to it though
  15. It'll definitely be interesting to see, I don't think they'll hit prices as high if it was his ASM stuff.
  16. I was there the whole time. There were 4 of us there. Steve, John, Tom and myself, I'm the one in the Red Sox hat and blue shirt
  17. So we're only allowed to talk about comic art at the show?
