  1. People still can't seem to tell the difference between a pedigree and a "From the collection of..."
  2. Covid isn't exactly the death sentence it used to be, take the mask off and live your life.
  3. Yes, Registered tracking is like "Scanned/Accepted ----5 days goes by of silence and no updates-------"Arrived in FL" Registered packages, someone needs to sign for it, every time someone touches it and it's get locked in a cage at every stop. It's slow and it sucks but it's the most secure, unless you're sending something to Heritage in TX, then it gets stolen haha
  4. mcca5355 Buyer bought a Daredevil 226 CGC 9.8, Opens a return with "Item not as described/Photos" Proceeds to send photos of the book in the case and says "there's 2 small spine creases, not a 9.8" I spoke with eBay about his fraud/return abuse. Told me to report the buyer, they'll investigate this case and refund me on the return label and to further escalate the case when I receive the book back. I contacted him and told him he'll be blocked from future purchases and i'll be advancing this return case once I get the book back and that this is not how returns work. So if anyone is reading this who returns CGC books because they don't like how CGC graded the book, you are committing return fraud.
  5. That really sucks, I have some valuable art, if I ever sell them through Heritage, I'd hand them to them in person at a show. I know you being in Canada it isn't that easy to do. USPS employees are also watching out for packages being delivered to Heritage since they know it's more than likely something valuable being sent to them
  6. Grader notes: Light bends to cover, Phantom staining no one can see except CGC
  7. Exactly, you're being charged on what the slabbed grade assigned is, not what it sells for raw when you send it in. If something happens to it, after you've been upcharged, you're the one holding the bag if you don't put enough coverage on it
  8. Some graders just don't wanna give 9.8s, they'll find something wrong with it to give it a 9.6
  9. The jagged edge is from the knife box inside the folder on the printing press
  10. Just recently sent a book in and I got up charged cause the grader found the book to be worth more than the value I put on the book, however, I noticed when I got the book in the mail and saw the invoice that came with it, The value coverage that I put down was not adjusted for what I was charged, I was charged double what I thought the value of the book was, Why didn't I get double the insurance coverage? If something were to go wrong, the invoice wouldn't reflect what the actual value of the book was since that is what I'm being charged 4% FMV for. (funny, how home contractors don't charge a FMV % when they remodel or add addition onto your house but CGC does to our comics) Also, The invoice only showed the price I originally paid, why wasn't what I paid adjusted on the invoice as well?
  11. this is what register looks like. Left is perfect register, right is out of register.
  12. I cracked and pressed my Hulk 181 9.2, just got it back today
  13. This was advertised on eBay raw as an 8.0, I paid $43
  14. Registration isn't about the wrap, Registration is about the color alignment.
  15. It's a tough book to find in general, not just in HG
  16. "He over works the painting" - Frazetta on Bob Ross
  17. You're on the right track, register has nothing to do with it, it's all ink/water balance
  18. This is clearly from what happens when the black ink is emulsifying, too much black ink, and too much water. It'll clean up and look crisp again once the ink and water is balanced. This is the lead press operator's fault.
  19. He's not that bad considering how tough some stuff is to find, want rare books? Pay up
  20. Me and Steve had a guy come to the table and wanted to see a Batman 121 CGC 3.0 (last GPA Sale $2100) and he also wanted an ASM 10 CGC (I forget the grade, I think a 5.0) He had the Batman 121 priced at $2000 and the ASM 10 priced at $550. He said "What can you do on the Batman"? I said "I can do $1800" Then he said "What can you do if I take both this and the ASM"? (total is $2550 sticker) I said "For both I can do $2300. He said "I'll think about it" He comes back around again and he said "Can you do $2150 for the pair"? Steve (owner) said "I'll do $2200" Again, He walked away....Dealers can only bend so far, but he did come by about 3 times and still didn't pull the trigger over $50. Price was more than fair and he wouldn't have gotten that price from any other dealer or online. I offered the batman to him for $300 under last sale and he still walked Some men you just can't reach. I know Steve prices his raw books using the overstreet and doesn't sell raw books for the graded price, then dealers are wondering why they can't move their stuff, that probably works in San Diego/LA and NYC but definitely doesn't work in the New England area, people just aren't gonna pay it then blame the show instead of their pricing model. I would have enjoyed the show more if I didn't hurt my back 2 weeks ago, I'd walk for 5 mins then my hip would start burning off, so wasn't too mobile to be beebopping around like I wanted, picked up some really nice Batmans under 200 and DC bronze horror in really high grade from a dealer selling the Fantast collection. Picked up a Punch Comics 14 from Bedrock that looked VG/VG+, Nice copy.
