  1. Just picked this up, I'm excited about it. tough book.
  2. What else is there to see if it's a 5.5?
  3. It's not after production trimmed, it's from a dull blade during production
  4. I'll probably get the 56pt from Comic Pro, I need them for CGC submissions cause the CS reps like to the pull the book from the bottom and flip them over while they verify, super stiff boards should stop the spine ticks from appearing when slabbed. I've been stacking about 3 boards together and am running out
  5. I invest in comics and have a stock portfolio as well as an IRA. I've liquidated a lot of my post 1980 comics outside of ASM. I've been focusing more of 1938-1955 golden age superhero, horror and romance. Silver age marvel mega keys and #1's. Bronze age pre 1975 in 9.4+ and 9.8's of 1976-1979 keys. I'm thinking 20 years out when I'm in retirement. Also have a few pieces of high end OA, Maybe when I'm 65-70 I'll sell everything, buy a house on a lake and stay there and die.
  6. Anyone know where I can find some extra thick comic backing boards? I was at a show the other day and they had some super stiff backing boards on comics but I don't know where to find them, most boards are 24 pts, need something thicker and stiffer than that.
  7. J & S Collectibles from CT. He does Little Giant Show, Baltimore, Terrific Con, Used to do C2E2. Boston Shows
  8. CGC like PSA in sportscards, are too big to fail. Those companies bring in the most $$ compared to their competitors when items are sold.
  9. Yeah these dealers dont wanna submit their books but still want the graded price
  10. I should be like all the dealers and start charging the GPA based on what I think it'll grade at for raw books, If I think it's a 9.2 and GPA says it sells for $850. That's the price it'll be. Even though I can't make that guarantee and the buyer ends up with an 8.5
  11. A lot of dealers wanted slabbed prices for raw books, there's no guarantee that if slabbed, the customer is getting the assigned grade the seller sells it to you as. I've seen sellers who want double GPA for raw books and don't even put grades on them, That's ok though, they can take it back home with them If sellers want graded prices for stuff, then they should get it graded.
  12. Unfortunately Marvel doesn't make these kinds of covers anymore, they just make covers with a good shot of the character cause that's what sells now
  13. it can't be pressed out and those types of creases occur after it's been printed, so no, a white line won't appear
  14. Came today, Have a better scan now
  15. I don't hold sellers to that kind of expectation, If I see a book graded and advertised as a 9.4, I fully expect the book to be a 9.0 when I get it.
