  1. ...I've often wondered exactly why they switched..... I've never read anything conclusive. The World product was definitely superior to Eastern.... maybe that was all..... but World is also more centrally located for nationwide distribution. GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) World Color was bought by Quebecor and became Quebecor Color which went out of business and plants were bought up by RR Donnelley who now prints comics today.
  2. They didn't "Gloss" the covers at the printing plant. Copies like any copy being sent to the customer is called a sample, the pressman works on the color until it matches what's called a "Go-By" so once this happens the covers will look bright and highly reflective because a lot more ink is being added and once they are happy with them, they'll give those copies to the customer, meanwhile the press is still running and books are still being saved. No one says "Add some extra gloss to them" "at the printers"
  3. Give him a neutral then give him 1 star on shipping rating, this will eventually hurt him in the long run if he gets enough of them from others. This is a seller who is nickel and diming his customers for his own benefit, $15 in ebay fees isn't going to put him out of business but making himself look bad in the eyes of potential customers will.
  4. All Pedigrees are not created equal and the Savannah Pedigree, IMO, is at the low end of the scale. Most books have CR/OW pages and look toasty. In this case, I don't think the Pedigree designation is adding any value. Also, this probably got graded during a loose period and it shows. If it was resubmitted today, for any reason, I doubt if it would be an 8.0 again. Obviously, anyone that owns it is not happy with it. You can only stare at the grade so long before you actually look at the book. CGC needs a flip up or slide label so someone can fall in love with the book FIRST and THEN look at the grade. Well the book is hard to miss. They don't grade based on eye appeal simply because you make a buying decision based on eye appeal. Perhaps CGC get rid of the numerical grading system and replace it with "Stunning With White Pages" and "Pretty with OW/W" or even "Sucks with CR/OW"
  5. Just saw it, it was alright. HQ was the star of the movie. It needed a better villian.
  6. I use BCW boxes cause they are cheap but the boxes are junk. They mainly just used to hold my ebay inventory in.
  7. I wish CGC would put the handles right underneath the lid, every time I pick up a full box, feels like the lid is going to fall off.
  8. Willing to bet someone at Fed Ex saw the return address, recognized who sent it and then stole it.
  9. Definitely getting it. Probably going to cash my points for it because it's gonna be expensive. I'd have to see the full reveal to decide, I'm more interested in Freeze and Two-Face when they ever get made.
  10. I plan on collecting uncanny x-men 142-300 all in CGC 9.8s.
  11. Although - and this may be the exception that proves the rule - the legendary New Mutants 98 10.0 was found in the wild. Foolkiller pulled it out of a box at a show. Im fairly certain it was pressed though.... ? It was pressed that's correct. However, I also submitted five MOS 18s, and got 3 9.9s, those were unpressed, mostly because I thought they were 9.8s and pressing wouldn't have done anything more to improve them. You have more luck any anyone I know of
  12. Detective Comics 27 Action Comics 1 Showcase 4 Incredible Hulk 1 Tales To Astonish 27
  13. Doesn't look like an 8.5 from my house
  14. It would cost a fortune to resubmit them, what if they come back a grade lower? No one seems to think of that. Do wonder how the microchamber paper is holding up in the old holders though.
  15. Ghost Town should resub all his old label books and see how many come back 9.6 or better, including this one. He even makes drek look good
  16. Ghost Town's collection is so good it makes me nauseous
  17. Awwwwww! That's so cute. Yeah Yeah I know compared to some of the totals I have seen in this thread, my collection is insignificant. My wife, however, would disagree with that assessment. I can only imagine how she will be when I make it to the 10000+ range!! Did you have your books before you were married? I tell my wife if she doesn't like it,there's the door.I had em before her,and I'll have em after her.
  18. I'm sure people have. I get people on ebay telling me all the time to put their cgc slabs in a box when mailing. I tell them "Oh so glad you told me, I was about to put an address label on it and drop it in the mailbox on the street.
  19. Seller doesn't care about the box the same way most collectors do. Not everyone is on the same page and collects the same way. It's not about collecting or collectibles though, it's about common sense. Anything that gets bought online should be put in a box. Some people don't have it, My sister with her 164 IQ who was 3 hours away from her house said "Oh, I guess I should have given the people helping move my stuff a key to the house." Like I said, not everyone is on the same page.

  21. They actually tried her animated series outfit, it's really about what looks good on film and of course David Ayers's style, studded belts and such. Besides, Hollywood doesn't like masks, because people will go to the movies to see their favorite actor's mug on screen
