  1. Can you speak on any packages available? or when they would become available?
  2. Ottley did well with sketches at the CGC in-house signings, I'm tempted on a few sigs. Not all artists are clickable for prices yet, the Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes on the Celebrity side are though $111 for both, prices subject to change.
  3. Because you're a polite Canadian? Or because it is truly a depraved and salacious act of passion towards meat? Why not both?
  4. That's definitely admirable! I was lucky to go by the LCS a few times, grocery store was were it was at for time for me at least. Report back! And have fun!
  5. Lol I appreciate your humbleness, and maybe I'm ignorant. That is a casual readers collection? 1980 to 2000 I guess sounds like a long time to me, to be a casual observer, so really hoping for you. and of course your friend! Man my kid collection fit into 2 Corona case boxes I think I may have a green eye, but truly, looks promising and a bonding time
  6. @MattrixAlien I know its cliche, I drew the line at cgc labels, it's a shame I know, but if cgc lists the 2nd or 3rd appearance, its easier. Sometimes easier than 2nd cameos or third full etc in appearances. I'm not saying it's for everybody, it's just where I drew the line. Do runs too, but if the first app isnt affordable etc.
  7. I've been espousing the 2nd and 3rd appearance for a long time, @Crops068 can confirm. When I saw it happened with major silver age, I was sure it would spiral to other "ages!" I'm not sure if it is just a slower build, due to the provenance that bronze hasn't the level or importance as silver.
  8. @DR.X glad you felt better, hope that continues! I figured there was a reason, and didnt want to trouble you. Glad you're safe and sound.
  9. There is a section of the boards for questions, mostly in the "newbie section" labeled that way idk, but off the top of my head perhaps the Avengers could be done Express Tier. More than likely both will need to be done "walkthrough tier" hope that helps
  10. This happened to me the other day, with the X-Men#131 I posted earlier. Packed by Dave and Adam', one slab, big box, and padding, so it survived! UPS
  11. Lol this place is invaluable in many ways, but I'm not good at asking questions sometimes Therefore, researching threads can be tough, If I dont know what to search or ask
  12. $310 × .87 the usual fee of 13% between ebay and the bank or something, comes close at $283. Rough rough estimate as PayPal no longer takes a cut, then minus 50$ for shipping. So that's close to somehow finding the issue on your own? I'd still call. I always like to surmise before calling to help convince customer service but idk, idk how it makes sense in any situation
  13. I thought so, but was the only way I could think it made sense But i appreciate confirmation
  14. Was your sale price $310? Or is that what was charged the buyer because if the buyers tax?
  15. A lot of young collectors do love the slabbed books, irrespective of the grade. They have a 'copy' of the book encapsulated, and those books books we're ragging on, are often over twice their own age!. Modern drek from the 80's, and 90's is a big deal from their perspective. The 60's/70's isn't chased, as it's seen as completely out of the conversation. And 80's and 90's books, are more tightly connected to todays comic market in the way the books look. Not much has changed from that period in terms of the look of comic books. For them, thats a plus. There's so much appreciation of low graded books these days. Having a low grade copy of big book is a big deal, then that low grade stigma is removed for other books with these guys. My own perspective is still from the early 2,000's when a 9.4 for a big book was ho-hum. This! This was info I needed. Been a while since the thread was posted in, we needed a reminder! I didnt know what question to ask in order to coax the info back into a discussion format. We need the info more fluid, which was attempted, and I appreciate it. I hope newcomers to the hobby can be more open to advice
  16. As for value, there are comics that you can sell for more raw than in a slab. If money is the idea. Plus keeping raw, you can read and well just peruse. There are, to your point, keepsakes that it's really up to you whether to have slabbed or raw.... Yet I'd be hard pressed if I said every comic I found "cheap" was a "keepsake." If there are other reasons to send in, more or less, books then give those reasons. I wouldnt call it elitist, but it wouldn't make sense for most in regards to value, and or, keepsake is my point. I got grades, and 16 out of 20 I returned grades that were "cheaper" for me to submit, than to buy them in the grade they are. Especially with Texas 8.25% tax. The reason I posted and was embarrassed for myself is some of these aren't grades that I'm all to crazy about, especially given how affordable etc
  17. Lol that's what I want, I'm a cheap arse Still, I know this sub isnt the end of the world, glad it's the last of my $5. So I won't feel like this thread applies to me ha! At least I'm honest, if not a bit too self deprecating
  18. I dont press either! The jokes writing themselves here folks!
  19. Amen, picked it up for a $4 at a DVD store. I thought it was cool enough to keep, and or, maybe try to complete the set, although I doubt I'll go that far It is made to look torn or ragged, so I sent it off to see how those get grade, this time not too bad 😔
