The only one on the list that I don't have and wouldn't mind getting is #24. But I doubt I want it bad enough to pay the price it brings any more. The only #26 I've ever seen, I bought. I don't have a #22 so this will probably have to do.

This book is such a great item! Valuable as it is, it's underrated with 22 and 24 inside and its own great cover. Got sniped on one on eBay a while back and haven't seen it since...not that any o' guys are my suspects or anything like that...

the back cover is nice too...im not sure what exactly they were grading but im thinking about sending for press/regrade. I know it has CVA but honestly thats not a huge deal to me. The spine has some spidery wear but its light and the cover is flat with good edges and great color/centering from all i can see. Ive seen a lot of 5.0's and even one of this book this on every level looked better than.

In the end i probably wont, its really just for me and my 10 key collection.

Good for you! You're happy and that's what's important. I don't know that I would put more $$ into it either with CPR; just saying it's probably a safe bet of at least a 50/50 shot of coming back higher on a resubmit. It's all very subjective and lots of books (NOT suggesting a majority) the grade can be argued convincingly up (or down in some cases) a bit.

10 keys? Skipping who, Sgt Fury and DD? Or ASM #1 (as a non-first app key)?

Very impressive colors for the grade.  Excellent buy!

    Congrats! Awesome pick-up!

Why can't we just say that maybe they blew the call on this one (graded too low)? I know we can't be sure because it is in the slab but geez it's at least worth acknowledging. Congrats again!

  4. Ok, that's all the books I plan to post to this thread. I will leave it open for a few days before closing. Thanks to everyone who looked and/or purchased. Remember, there's a freebie on board for every purchaser, and PM's are always welcome.

    Thanks fellow boardies! (thumbsu

  5. Last romance offering...I Love You #114. This one IS called out in the guide as a psychedelic cover. Also has art by Alascia inside. Presents really well, flat and bright, but I will call it a notch below the first three Charltons I offered and label it F/VF as there's that dunched upper left corner, front and back, and some more visible spine stresses. Probably pressable and would look awesome in a slab. Only two copies on eBay are low-grade. $20.

  6. Next up, Sweethearts #119...cover story "Men are Unessential." Strange stain-looking tanning (is it a stain?) has overtaken most of back cover but book presents nicely as a mid-grade from front. Not sure what actual grade to assign; I saw a Crime Reporter #1 once with the same flaw; first and only other time I had seen this. I didn't buy it, but that book was about thirty times as much. $10.
