Next up, some Alex Toth goodness Dale Evans #3, VG. Small piece missing lower left and lower right, some spine wear, a little dusty but bright. $60
Provenance: Western Printing file copy, picked up from a retired pressman who left with a few comics, as many did, when the Poughkeepsie, NY plant (opposite Marist College) closed in the 1980's.

[Readcomix' First Sales Thread - Assorted, esoteric, affordable
Welcome to my first sales thread!
Background: I'm a long-time collector, not a dealer, starting at age 5 in the early '70's with a 20-cents-a-day habit. My eBay feedback is all as a buyer (same name); never sold there and no plans to. I do have a small kudos thread here, having made a handful of purchases from and sales to fellow boardies. I'll attempt to follow what I believe are commonly accepted best practices, based on my reading here and in the rules posting. If I miss something, gentle polite nudges are welcome. Or just kick me in the head. Whatever. Let's have fun with comics!
Rules:
Shipping is $8 U.S. Or $16 to Canada; up to 2 lbs (about 8 books) over that will be actual. (1 oz. over 2 lbs jumps Canadian shipping by $10 USD!) No international, sorry. Cutting my teeth. I'm using those newfangled flip and ship comic mailers, and have gotten good feedback on them.
No HOS, probies, or treacherous villains, please.
PM's welcome of course, but in the thread trumps all, time stamp rules.
Payment is Money Order or check.
Returns: Sure, just notify me within 3 days of receipt and pay return shipping. Unless of course return is due to my error/something I missed.
Okay, in the immortal words of Lawrence Taylor, "Let's all get out there like some crazed dogs a' have some fun!"

I plan to offer my first sales thread later tonight, hopefully within an hour or so (shooting pix next, operating on EST). It will be in Gold/Silver/Bronze with a variety of affordable offerings, so one can test-drive this long-time collector, noob seller.
Background on me: I'm a long-time collector, starting at age 5 off the newsstands with a 20 cents-a-day habit. I've never sold on eBay but have bought; same name there to see my feedback. I also have a Kudos Thread on the boards from a handful of purchases from and sales to boardies. This will be my first sales thread; I will attempt to ape best practices as I have observed them; polite, helpful nudges are of course welcome.
I'd better go shoot pix or this isn't happening!

The interior is a book length story, all by Bob Powell, about an alien injured in a crash landing on Earth. Vic and his girlfriend try to save the alien and also protect Earth from the evil guys pursuing him.
As I read it, it struck me right away that it seemed like it could have been the inspiration for Hal Jordan's origin.

Great book, one of my favorites.
Curious about the postcard. Is that supposed to be Chuck's sig verifying the authenticity of that book as the Church copy?
Yes, that's what Jeff Hinds included.

No worries - I wasn't that clear in my initial post (I was trying to be clever). Which in turn made me unsure if we were looking at the same thing, given the replies. No apology necessary! It's all good!
You brought up two interesting topics on this book, it turns out!

Apologies, Unca Ben -- I was looking at/referencing the oil effect that looks like deli sandwich paper (above the Torch's head and below the red letters "Doctor Doom." I saw two otherwise nice raws that had this effect, but it was far more apparent on the inside front cover. I totally missed the milk-white fills in the letters. Sorry.

Jet Dream #1, fine, $10. If this book needs any commentary, you don't deserve it.
