  1. I don't think our admins knew about this Rich - Invision (the site owners) spring changes unannounced all the time. It looks like our admins are working now to correct all the unwanted changes and I wouldn't mind betting that we'll back to as near to normal soon, just with a few cosmetic differences that well likely soon forget about. CGC pay for an off the shelf forum now that is largely self running, so all the personal touches that we were used to in the past have gone now.
  2. I've added it to a list here: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/480195-i-hate-the-new-boards-joke/ Hopefully they'll restore it
  3. Signatures are still there, just the pictures are missing - I'm sure they'll come back in time
  4. I know, I was joking Buzz. Dena is the principle admin contact now and has been for a while. She'll be along soon I'm sure, to respond to what has happened. The admin model is very different now and they spend the majority of their time on other things now that the site is more or less self functioning. There is a 99% chance that they were not even advised of this upgrade by Invision. That is the model now (I've asked in the past). I predict our admin will be as annoyed as we are, when they get to see what has happened. I also predict that they will sort all the problems if they are given the time to. We should support them in that, I think.
  5. Is it hiding in the three little 'More Options' dots to the top right of the first post?
  6. They started in April 1971. #101 should have the insert. Jim It's a National Diamond Sales insert in that issue:
  7. UPDATED 22/02/21 @dena Let's make a list of the things that are wrong, to help the admins put them right - post them here as you see them and I'll add them to this post: The 'return to the top' button that used to be bottom right of the screen is missing SOLVED All pictures are missing from posts, signature lines, about me pages etc SOLVED External email notifications have been curtailed to a single line of text instead of the previous full post text SOLVED Moderator symbols have appeared under certain members avatars DOESN'T SEEM TO BOTHER ANY OF THEM The 'Top Posters in This Thread' summary to the right of each thread compresses the text in each post - likely an unpopular feature but might be nice at the foot of the page instead (something we could vote on perhaps?): SOLVED/REMOVED Banner adverts are missing (I like this but the one with the rear pants flap was quite nice) SOLVED Not sure what 'Member's Solved Count' means - this only seems to appear in the 'Chat Board Questions & Issues' forum so may relate to previously answered questions?: NOW UNDERSTOOD (BUT COULD BE REMOVED AS IT HAS NO PRACTICAL APPLICATION) Intermittent performance issues: SOLVED/NO ISSUES REPORTED FOR SOME TIME A new process relating to journal entries requires explanation SOLVED/NOW UNDERSTOOD The 'Edit' a post button has moved from the lower 'Quote' bar to the three dots to the top right of each post NO COMPLAINTS/ACCEPTED The close a sales thread button is missing Lengthy text goes off the page in a number of areas, e.g.: The 'expand' function has returned within quoted posts (this was previously voted down) - example below: The colouring has become a little stark (old Golders vs new Golders below) - the white is bright enough to hurt the eyes: Old Version New Version The 'Online Users' page now no longer fits the page - this seems to happen when the thread titles being viewed are too long - the page expands to accommodate them rather than they are shrunk / curtailed to fit The 'theme' option is missing at the foot of the page (pinch zoom etc) The 'Jump To' feature appears to be missing Members with long names are getting chopped: Formatting issues in certain screens, e.g.:
  8. Pinch away, Penelope. I'd do it myself but the process is too painful!
  9. Excellent! Now we know at least two copies exist, Gary Amazing really isn't it, how hard some of these later issues are to locate. I've been looking through the Marvel files recently and am constantly surprised how few copies I've seen of certain books - some early, some late in the UKPV production line like this one. There are still a good number of books that I have only ever seen one copy of in all my years of researching. That's not to say that they aren't out there, squirreled away in private collections, but if your life depended on finding some of these you'd be in deep trouble....
  10. That mark is present on other copies Galen - see another example below - so definitely printer related: I'm at 8.0/8.5. I like a Charlton, me.

No special hair powers then you're saying, Andy? Might as well have just used one big nail to the forehead then. Quite wasteful really, those Medusa Men. Still, nice to see that nails are still in production though, in the future.
  12. I've calculated that approximately one in ten people take the trouble to acknowledge the help that is given to them on this forum, including those that actually revisit their posts to see the answers provided. The one in ten that does respond though, makes it all worthwhile.

The Medusa Man is actually quite scary there isn't he, for a kids comic. Looks like the other chap has brought the 'whole edifice down' on this occasion though. No doors to the balcony presumably, in space town. Is the nailing down of the girl's hair symbolic, or does she have special hair powers which need to be contained?

Nice cover Just to confirm Andy, that's cover dated 1 9 4 1, right?
  15. I've never looked too deeply into the non-UK Dell price variants - maybe someone else here has done some investigations....
  16. Cool - seems to be in the test market date range Jim http://dellcomicfan.blogspot.com/2011/12/in-late1950s-dell-published-several.html
  17. That's our current sole stamped 6 example Rob Odd that the DD's copy was unstamped, I thought...
