  1. I see what you did there Tardi It looks to be in the 4.5 to 5.0 area to me. Welcome to the forum...
  2. Who knows why one thing gains attention and another doesn't. They're nice things in themselves, and have a certain charm to them. And they are comparatively scarce, that is, you'd have a long wait if you tried to build a set. Maybe there are a handful of discerning individuals out there attempting to relive their youth. 90% of what I collect and post about here is universally unloved but then again I've always existed outside of the circle (as tonight's market test is rapidly confirming ). It's all part of the mystery Robot. All part of the fun.
  3. I know. I've not detected a market for date stamped copies myself, that is, a significant group of collectors who would pay a premium for one. Most collectors still prefer 'clean' copies. So it's likely that only the old romantics would seek them out, especially those that have a date meaningful to them. And there's no joy to be gleaned from faking your own meaningful book, is there? P.S. MJI's are nigh on impossible to fake.
  4. I was joking Robot. A finger prod to the absentees A summary is on the way, if you've lost your way. Yes. BIN, unsold, 8 watchers I may have mentioned once or thrice that the UKCBPG is not to be relied upon. Here is the full table - I've posted about these in my DC thread: I have established that copies comprise different issues, yes. Here's an example from the files: Mystery in Space example A: Mystery in Space example B: This is in line with the general observation that these books were randomly populated just like the Double Doubles. Prices fluctuate - two recent examples: Condition plays its part of course (and contents!), but that's still quite a variance.
  5. Not taken seriously? Not taken seriously?! I think you're forgetting 'The Wit of the Web-Slinger' Broke...
  6. .....and this one concludes my look at magazines: So, more than enough examples now to confirm that T&P were importing and stamping other periodicals, the presence of which likely explains why our comics started at an '8'. Or '6', depending on your assessment of the evidence....
  7. Meanwhile, back at T&P stamped magazines, here's a rather racy one: T&P Stamp RV Series Stamp Printed UK Price Variant?
  8. A quick check of September / November DCs for 1975 shows various T&P 10p stamped examples. If it was cover dates the fanzine was referring to, they seem to have made it.
  9. Of course you can And stick a Mark Jewelers insert into it while you're at it.
  10. I was typing as your post landed - we're both fives. MCS are notoriously harsh graders - your copy would likely get the 6.5 from CGC!
  11. I'm a bit lower at 5.0 due to what appears to be water damage at the bottom of the back cover. Nice front, but a badly stained back and I heard that CGC don't like that.
  12. It's even worse inside - he's caked in it. And you thought they were B&W only interiors...
  13. I posted a comparison a while back between the UK reprint of ASM #96 and the original book, and a debate ensued regarding the 'extra' art that features to the right of the UK cover. When you add Marvel Tales #77 into the mix, we see additional art to left. I've lost track on what's what now
  14. Glad you won it Gary - we know at least two copies exist now! Your next task....
  15. I think it's just naff colouring Gads - all copies had it:
  16. I saw that clipping too Gary, on the online fanzine portal: If the DC books in question were September and November 1975 then they would have had to have been T&P stamped cents copies as there were no DC UKPVs at that point: I haven't plotted any T&P DCs beyond 1970 so I'm not sure if that gap ever materialised. A task for another day.
  17. That's a nice one Gary, thanks. I found a few others too - here's another couple of Charltons:
  18. Here's another example of a T&P stamped magazine - SICK: Some nice half price stamps there too. There are a few out there with Mr T's favourite diamond logos: Charming. Numbered too, did you see. Anyway, thread seems to have a died a death I see, as they all do in the end....
  19. And the additional filler covers - some wonderful art there too Gadzukes - another post from elsewhere:
  20. Can you get a version of that for your avatar?
