  1. to the only guy in this thread with zero credibility. Guess who that is.
  2. So - bottom line - we’re saying there are at least 10,300 of these out there, right?
  3. I know it's bad form but I can't stop laughing. 'Based on a poll of Jaydogrules' Sorry Jay
  4. I'll do one for you Steve: He's no stranger to love. Wasn't there another one with Meatloaf - the things he'd do for love? This was my favourite graph though (Jay, please don't hate me. It's just a bit of fun mate! )
  5. Key word 'had'. I want a prize for now. Can't you do me a graph or something?
  6. England ordered one copy apparently That didn't make sense did it No, my LCS didn't order anywhere near 100 regulars so I don't know why he got the variant. Fifty copies would have been a stretch actually. Maybe it was a balls up? And he only charged me £8.99 for it (I think) so it's not like he charged me a premium having had to over order to get it. One of life's oddities. I don't really know why this thread rumbles on and on. There is one undeniable scenario, regardless of numbers. The book is damn scarce.
  7. I know. But I could've bought a bloody car with it now. Oh well. Still wondering how it made it over here to my little LCS....
  8. If I give you a list, will you think about them for me?
  9. I had ASM #667 once. Sold it for £500 thinking I was a genius. God, that didn't half hurt
  10. Do you think that the phrase "flavorless jalapeno popper" and "flower-picking book reader" will ever be seen wrapped around Godzilla playing basketball ever again? Or is this a one off for the universe?
  11. My thread on Charlton pence variants has sent prices through the roof! Comics that used to command as little as one pound fifty each now command as much as one pound seventy five each. The power of advertising.
  12. The Garfield / Stone relationship was indeed the highlight of those films. Tender, believable and touching. But everything else was inferior to the Raimi films - action, villains, supporting cast. And the music was just awful. What should have been a big step up was a big step backwards. The latest chap just isn't Spider-Man, or Peter Parker, in any way that I recognise. Ditto the cast, setting etc. I've posted this before, but if they had left Venom out of #3, not killed Harry, and then built up to a final #4 in which MJ dies at his hands.... Well, that would have been something. Because of the way things are now we will likely never see a rendition that is faithful to the comics. That's a shame, but I understand it. The Raimi films came mighty close, and I'm happy to leave it there. I got to see Spidey on the big screen and was largely thrilled by it. It's a bit like Doctor Who. Ruined now, but I got to see Capaldi nail it in my lifetime. You can't have everything.
  13. I'm sure. It's not my area of expertise at all, I just saw it in the paper yesterday and thought you guys might like to see it. I never really got into 2000AD as a kid. But I do remember one issue that I purchased that had a sad robot in it which made me feel sad too. It's funny what sticks with you.
  14. I'm not a fan of the last few films / portrayals. They had their faults, but I thought the Raimi trilogy was the closest in spirit and tone that I'll ever see on film to the Spidey in my mind. And J.K. Simmons nailed it.
