If the recent Green Eggs competition taught us anything it is that the book would likely come back a 9.6.

It's like 8.5 is good, because it's a really good looking 8.0. Whereas 9.0 or 9.2 is a below par 9.4. Nonsense isn't it.

I was wondering why he went for 'Fire Department' over 'Pier A' and I found this online: "Pier A is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated New York City landmark. Not my copy, but I added a pence version above - a bit more building again at the sides, and something on top of the telly. Some detail missing under the telly too. A bit less people at the bottom though.

Money. An 8.2 wouldn't carry any premium over an 8.0. And there'd be stacks of them for most comics. Sky's the limit at the top end though, where your 9.9 might be the only one. I agree with the spirit of your post though.
