  1. Another one ticked off of the 'First 20 Pence Marvels' list It shares the honour of being the first ever Marvel 9d price variant with GW#58. JIM#58 has a standard US indicia, GW#58 - brought to us by L Miller - a regional one. Here they are together in their joint 9d number 58thdom:
  2. Groundbreaking news coming soon Well. Mildly interesting. If you like this kind of thing. Alright, forget I said anything. Here's some Reptilicus' while we wait And a new one, in customary Charlton Pence Copy condition: Nice 5d stamp that
  3. Postman Pat, Postman Pat, Postman Pat and his black and white cat. Crashed his van into a tree and received multiple but, thankfully, non life-threatening injuries Anyway, madly successful Golden Key activity lately. It's been very enjoyable. I'll get around to posting them all soon. Two more just this morning to add to the 18 () that arrived in the week And another Teen Confessions hiding there!
  4. Morning all Every once in a while I pay a visit to the King of Charlton's lovely comic website and swap stories and information with the Defiant1 (possibly the nearest equivalent to me you'll find, as far as documenting obscure comic minutiae goes) I noticed today that he had a few Charlton Canadians that were missing from my list. They were Haunted #71 for which he had an image and Ghostly Tales #164 for which he didn't. So I've updated my sheet with the Haunted #71, adding that image to the files, and have asked for sight of the GT#164. That makes 48 confirmed copies out of a maximum of 64 (assuming all issues exist between the documented dates) with a further one to add if GT#164 appears: Some of the images aren't the best, and I hope to find better copies as the hunt goes on.
  5. Morning APV Collectors of the World I've updated the list with all the new finds and we are now up to 1,121 confirmed APV's across 98 titles. Here's the recently added Captain America (1996 Series): For magazines, we're on 61 confirmed copies for the only two known titles: I have found no magazines for the phase II dates, and the first wave dates remain in line with the regular comic sized books. If that holds true, there will be a maximum of 80 magazines in total. There seem to be more sellers than ever listing AUS copies on ebay now, possibly as a result of the greater awareness of them. This thread itself, though not particularly heavily posted in / commented on, has seen over 23K views: Some of the prices the books are now going for do not impress me at all, and suggest rampant speculation similar to that which we see for later Marvel newsstand copies. That's a shame really, as the books are not finding their true worth through bidding competition as they should. My approach has always been to document what exists and, in respect of AUS copies, I do appear to be the only person who has ever attempted a full title / issue list (although a few others have documented appearances, key dates and such like). For the record, I don't collect them, so I'm not making any money out of them. I'll keep going and will continue to publish the known copy list here and over in my journal. Some titles are beginning to fill up nicely now and I'll soon be able to confirm them as 'complete'. That assumes my date assumptions are correct of course. If you think about it, I have collected over 1,100 images. Not one of them breaks the date range that I have documented. So that gives some faith that it is probably concrete. Here's a few recent additions: All good fun
  6. That's a brilliant cover. I love those Australian copies.
  7. It does give the impression of a flawed understanding doesn't it. Either that or the website is so old no one knows how to fix it
  8. Yes. The collective noun is Jimmery, Jim. A 'Jimmery' of JIMs
  9. Cheers Stephen. It's the nicest I've seen so far. Most of the others had writing on them and such like. A few more to post later.
  10. Evening all I managed to pick up my own copy of JIM #65: Aint she nice I still find it amazing that this book was on the missing list for ten years and then surfaced about four times in the space of one year. I like it when that happens, as it shows that you can never say never and that little surprises may be just around the corner. There's a joke in there somewhere. I have a few more surprises to post. It's been a very fruitful period this last few weeks in Penceville. That's another thing I find with comics. Nothing for ages and then everything comes at once. There's a joke in there too I shouldn't wonder... Cheeow
  11. Lot's of updates due when I get around to it, including another new Nov '96 title (which I was expecting based on earlier posts): An AUS Liefeld. What a thing of beauty...
