  1. Edit the first post and it will give you the option
  2. I wonder why the owner doesn't see it? What makes them ignore what is happening? Watching their stock / livelihood deteriorate in front of their eyes. And no one has ever pointed it out? These people have given up.
  3. I think the instinct to collect stays with you all your life if you have it. It varies in intensity, but is always there. A break can be good, and invigorating. I've had many spells off, and many intense splurges. And the focus can vary. Completism of one character one minute, a particular type of comic the next. My interests have changed dramatically over the years. I realise I just need comics in my life. The content varies, but as long as you have the buzz still, when finding that book / opening that parcel, what you collect doesn't really matter. P.S. Selling works sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't. As long as you're fit and healthy enough to find something new, or even collect it all again, who cares.
  4. All hail the return of The Glassman! May his visit be long and enduring! May his commentary be wild and fanciful! Yet unerringly accurate. May his fork lift drivers licence be returned, duly embossed, forthwith! May Gorgo baulk at the taste of his posts, and leave them be in honour - with a u - of posterity and the future reading pleasure of three men and a canine like Sparkenwood! Praise him! Welcome back Pete
  5. Shhh! I'm trying to double it's readership to two people Gnash
  6. BATTLEFIELD ACTION! "BLAM! BAM! QUITE ODD HANDS!" Big War, surely? "RATATATAT! RATATATAT!" Out of the trench into combat. Again. "Look! It's the flaming Yalu!" "Oh yeah. I'd forgotten about him." "Stay on target....stay on target!" "I'll teach you respect for the Reds! Barry - get this City fan outta here!" Nazi bracelets. Only fifteen dollars including postage and packing. "Now they've got me good! Or have they? That light sure is bright. But they've missed me by a mile...." "Hmmm. So that's the Colonel's secret recipe. Who'd have thought a little pinch of - hey!" "Now that you've read what's in my book, fool, you must die!" We owe people like these a great debt of gratitude don't we. Without them, some of us may not even be here to enjoy the safety and feedoms we so readily take for granted. God bless those that give their lives to keep us safe. BATTLEFIELD ACTION!
  7. Evening Two things. First thing, here's the latest current confirmed pence printed price figures, as anticipated keenly by Three Men and a Dog Like Sparkenwood: Marvel - 3,018 confirmed pence priced variants (with very few more expected to be found) DC - 839 confirmed pence priced variants (all known copies believed to be recorded) Charlton - 415 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 832 issues) Dell - 198 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 424 issues) Gold Key - 98 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 168 issues) Archie - 21 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 48 issues) King - 17 confirmed pence priced variants (of a potential 24 issues) Which means I have evidence of 4,606 first printing pence priced US comics at the moment - 29 up on the last update Marvel still lead the way, but King are catching fast. Talking of King, here's the second thing: Look at the size of my Phantom! I made it bigger, as the small version gained 100% of zero interest. It's Ten Dee. Do you see? Cheeoww
  8. Fast forward six months and it's still there. 'MARVAL'. But I'm totally cool with it. Doesn't bother me one bit. Nor does this copy, which is not only very rare, but desired. Doesn't irk me in the slightest. This next listing doesn't irk me in the slightest either: Why would someone selling a leg, sorry 'LEGG', irk me? Or anyone for that matter? It's all good. I'm cool with it. They can pop up on my screen every day of the week as far as I'm concerned. I'm totally immune to their former irkdom. Really.
  9. It's worth the occasional challenge. Even I'm wrong once or twice a century
  10. He's gone to ground, the slacker. Ha! I haven't read that one but I can guess what you mean. Some nice books here. If any of the Archie's had pence prices I'd be in like a shot. Good luck
