  1. As a film, there was some good stuff in it, I agree. But it was so far away from the spirit, mood, history and motivation of Spider-Man as I see him that it may as well have been about a completely different hero / person. And as a film on its own, it brought nothing new to the medium. No wow scene, no drama, no flair. But I've said all this already many posts back. There is a truly great Spider-Man film waiting to be made, and some day someone will make it. The first two were well pitched and well made films with the right tone and spirit in my view. But they had flaws. 3 could have been great, but we all know now that Raimi was coerced by the men in suits who tend to ruin everything they touch, trying to tell the talent how to be talented. Tony Stark is a great creation and RDJ has nailed him on screen. But making Spidey appear second fiddle to him in his own film is all wrong. I feel like saying why I dislike it all over again now. But look, you're right, terrible is not the right word. Travesty is. And for those not in the UK, the "Hey, go, let's go" song is used widely over here in an advert for a firm who deliver white goods. So even that attempt at teen humour fell flat for me. I left the cinema thinking about getting a new fridge.
  2. Indeed. It does seem to have turned into a discussion about money doesn't it @Straw-Man. Meanwhile, the film continues to be terrible.
  3. I tried to log in from work earlier today and couldn't do a thing. Much better now though. Arch hasn't logged in since Monday so must be on holiday or something. Scott logged on an hour ago so I predict he'll be along soon with a detailed update...
  4. Excellent! I love a well loved copy. My two are beautifully tatty. It's the only way to be. Your copy is the 'bold' font type I see - you only need 3 more for the full set @KirbyJack : Also, have you noticed how feint the Kids face is on your copy - and also the face / hair on the lady to the left? Looks like a printing anomaly which makes you book all the more cool in my book (printing errors are cool). And all this for $20! I see @Dave2739's $30 and raise you $40. Or whatever the phrase is. You know what I mean.
  5. Cheers @comic_memories It's always hit and miss when you start new threads. Some take off, others wither on the vine. I thought someone might take up the challenge, but so far, '6' is it
  6. Like the new Avatar Harvey! Looking at the current totals, I don't think the misplaced vote is going to make much difference. I'm surprised by the lack of love for Andru though
  7. Nicely said. There was a JR Jnr period that I really liked. He seemed to lose it later though. Maybe that's why many aren't fans.

  9. Any chance you could do my windows later Sharon? They're filthy
  10. That post above took 12 seconds to land from the point I clicked submit.
  11. Yes, that's my experience too. The PM system is easily the least effective / user friendly feature of the boards, yet it's arguably one of the most important. I dread to think what it's like for those running sales threads. Until it is replaced with something more aligned to a message inbox as we know it elsewhere we'll probably lose members as a result. It should never be a chore to do something so basic. I have a lot of thoughts on why traffic may be down, and suggestions to improve things. I was going to have a go now but - and i'm not making this up for effect - every action since I signed in this morning has taken over 10 seconds to fulfil. @Scott =) I'm on my tablet, every other site I access is instantaneous but the boards give me a 10 to 15 second buffer on everything right now. Logging in, accessing notifications, the all activity page. It's too slow my friend.
  12. Hulk like pictures. Hulk still farting though. Beans are strong like Hulk. Smell is also strong like Hulk. Hulk feel giddy.
  13. Cheers Scott. Keeping us posted is great, and it's good to know you're actively monitoring and looking for improvements on our behalf.
  14. The boards have been painfully slow for weeks for me. Certain parts of the site seem to take forever to load. For example, if I click on someone's avatar to see their profile page it can take up to 20 seconds to load. I'm not an expert, but it sometimes just feels like there isn't enough juice in the engine and the software is creaking under the demand. The usual error message turns up a fair few times, but it's the general slowness that is the biggest drag.
  15. Enough about your private life Sqeggs, we're talking about the boards here +1,000,000
  16. @nesqrick2, you are the King of the Australian Price Variant my friend! Keep em coming....
  17. Always. Now, where can I access this ye old bewb tewb of which you speak?
