  1. You might be right - 583 issues have more or less the same logo with a tweak here or there.............. ............until it changed significantly at 584: ASM only managed 394 issues before changing, for the worse, to this: Can anyone beat 583?
  2. I don't know too much about Spawn and Image to be honest, but I can appreciate what is likely to be a hard to find AUS price variant. Nice book @nesqrick2 !
  3. The Iron Man logo was always quite appropriate I thought. Riveting in fact. OK, sorry about that line. And it had legs - the same logo was used from number 11..... ....all the way up to 179. I wonder which title has the longest running logo? ASM?
  4. And Batman looks jolly chipper top left, if only in comparison to Mr Grumpy Pants here:
  5. Yeehaar! That's great! Unfortunately, if they relaunched it today, the title logo would probably be: "Cowperson Relationships on an Equal Footing"
  6. ...and titles! 'Frisky Fables' is a new one on me @Robot Man. It's totally brilliant isn't it!
  7. To be fair, posting a positive leaning cover of a comic with a former POTUS on it in a thread titled "this couldn't happen today" clearly could be seen as having political overtones. If I posted it elsewhere, say in a sales thread, that would probably be OK. It wasn't actually on my mind when I posted it, but I can see it now so fair enough.
  8. Yep, it's like watching old movies. Times change very quickly, but very much for the better in most cases. I posted the ASM 583 variants, and they got pulled due to the political aspect I guess. Still, rules are rules....
  9. Me too. The logo destruction is great, but I always liked the look on her face as well
  10. Now that is cool. And people said they were monkeying around!
  11. @mikeyc67 Thanks for the kind words Mikey - I'm so pleased you dropped by If you check the 'about me' page of my profile you'll see that your posts here cross three of the threads I dabble in - Font Variations, L Miller copies and Marvel Pence Price Variants. In my Pence Variants thread here... ...you'll see that I have posted a 'missing list' of those pence comics which I think should exist but have yet to find a copy of: RHK #25 is on there - could you post a scan of your pence printed copy so I can add it to the list please? Regarding your cent copy L Miller 20 and 23 - and I know this is a big request - is there any chance you could take a picture of the indicia pages showing the L Miller straplines? No worries if not, it's just great to know they're out there. If you read through my Pence thread you'll see lots more western copies. If you have any other titles on my missing list above, do let me know. Cheers Mikey! P.S. and please give me first refusal if you ever decide to sell the Millers won't you!
  12. Cool. That September 96 X-Men is a late one - one of the last few months before the AUS single priced issues stopped. I found the later copies of ASM really difficult to find. It took me years to build the ASM run. I would imagine it would take forever to try and find every AUS issue for every title. A Herculean task that would be....
  13. Wow! Where have you been hiding @mikeyc67 !?!?! You own those four RHK #17s ? Fa-bu-lous my friend I thought I was doing well with my two copies! Now you've found me, a few questions if I may: First up, could you check whether your pence RHK is an L Miller distributed copy please? If you check out the last post in my thread here, you'll see why I'm asking: Secondly, do you have any other copies of RHK (cents of pence), notably 18 through to 25? If so, are any L Miller distributed copies? Finally, what made you collect all three cent variations - you must have had an interest in the font differences to do so? Any theories on why these exist? I'm convinced it has something to do with the introduction of UK distributed copies. The font variations start in June 1960, one month after pence copies commence. So much happens in this short time - maybe the introduction of L Miller / Thorpe & Porter as UK distributors is the reason we see different cent fonts and cent priced copies with Thorpe & Porter indicia's? It's a crazy period. Anyway, thanks for responding. I don't get much interest in these threads so it's a treat to have someone join the fray - especially with such lovely pictures Cheers, Steve
  14. ....and if the moderation haircut is anything to go by, there are clearly some books that can't be posted today either!
  15. I'd give the cover an extra point out of five for the fact they forgot Spideys chest logo Harry
  16. Nothing wrong with seeing that "My God!" page twice @Jimbo749
  17. I know! I always liked the 'scruffy' looking starburst ones @wormboy. It's like whoever did them couldn't be bothered. Look at the ASM 186 below - Ahh, that'll do.....
