  1. Last Bump! from me... One day left, you see... Stuck on 123... Here comes Guv'nor Mikey...
  2. ....because they give us another reason to muck about with comics, Reggie Look at the top and bottom slopes on this eBay copy....
  3. No he didn't do the newsstands. Have a read of this thread - the final cover date for Marvel newsstands was December 2013 so all Ultimates up to that date should exist as newsstand copies: I table I put together (and promptly forgot about): I just found my old book on Heritage I never liked that cover, with the big round head
  4. The TPB prints images of all the original artist sketches. I had a one of a kind Deodato, and sold it. Like a lot of books I've sold over the years, it's probably worth a bomb now.
  5. https://www.heroinitiative.org/shop/books/ultimate-spider-man-100-project-hardcover/ http://www.pecokit.com/checklist/usa/usm00100hi.html
  6. The '100 Project', I think it was called. 100 artists did a blank sketch each and they had them all in a TPB. I had to bid big and got lucky. They'll keep you busy. Check out the site link I posted earlier - a friend of mine put it together. It will have every USM known on it. A few images from my old collection - some of the harder ones to get (at the time, not sure about now):
  7. Ah, there you go. Told you I'd forgotten most of it! I wish I hadn't sold this one:
  8. I'm not surprised. All the back cover variations made tracking a little difficult - I don't think the word 'Checkers' appeared anywhere on the book so it would make sense that someone would refer to it as the 'Gameboy' version. I was in my 30s and had a great time collecting them. I think I managed to get everything in the end for the first USM run. It was a big thing then, the Ultimate range - something different. Good luck
  9. I've forgotten more about them than I remember now. There were tons of USM variants, some common, some not so common. I've no idea whether they still command any interest though.
  10. I used to have all these. That's the 'Checkers' reprint: http://www.pecokit.com/checklist/usa_v/usm00.html My old records:
  11. Yup. It can take a long, long time before you give in to the never say never philosophy. When 'in scope' books turn up after years and years and years of relentless, fruitless searching, you finally give in to it. There have been a few books that spring to mind that I've privately labelled as "this cannot exist" only to be proven wrong. I love it when it happens though. You start to build a pattern where the same book shows in the UK, always in the standard version, in group shots and OO collections, over and over again. You tentatively mark that tracking sheet - this one missed the (insert variation) cut. Then it turns up with a wry smile on its face. Ner-ner-de-ner-ner. It's brilliant when you find it yourself of course, but a massive pain in the arse when someone else does who spent 15 minutes looking for it to your eight years. It can go like that though. Sometimes the effort is rewarded, sometimes not.
  12. Did you see this lot on the bay Richmond: 133 - 5p T&P stamp 134 - 5p T&P stamp 135 - 5p T&P stamp 136 - 5p T&P stamp 137 - Massive 'Rodneys' style 4p marker pen 139 - 5p T&P stamp
  13. Doesn't it just. Especially the backwards pointing left arm with its split fingers. There's something ever so slightly off with the Andru eyes though in these panels. Any pictures?

  15. This one does it for me (and not just because he's wearing my platforms):
  16. That's my kind of mishap, Eye See Pee. Anything that is different to the regular, however slight, intentionally or otherwise, has always floated the boat at Marwood Towers. The more obscure, the better:
  17. That car had some glove compartment didn't it.
  18. Hope you never drove it on the pavement. Sidewalk, sorry.
  19. If it was full of Batman comics, I'd have bought it
  20. My recollection from old reading somewhere is that it was a private collector. Maybe they worked at Streamline. It wouldn't be a surprise that a comic producer / industry worker would also be a collector I suppose. That's quite the classified ad though, isn't it. Next issue: Car for sale. One careless owner
  21. Is the Prodigy related to the Mindworm do you think, Reggie?
  22. That looks fun Pickie. A nice, scenic train ride. My 22,000th post welcomes you as our 118th participant!
