I must admit this is one of the things that frustrates me. Some books on ebay are not graded correctly. An issue with a missing centerfold will not be bid on fairly if the flaw is not identified. I did see a book that I might have bid on if the price were lower. I am showing example pages and a copy that I have which has the centerfold
Agreed, there was a More Fun 34 on EBay that had a wrong interior in it. I alerted they buyer five days before the auction ended. They ignored me and it sold for 125 ( I believe) it was noted as incomplete. I think if they would have been honest it would have sold for about half that. Hopefully the new buyer paid attention and at least knew what they were buying. Seller was cliffbutternut, if anyone has had any dealings with him.

I just purchased it from Ebay and didn't realize until I got it that it was not all there. Seller did make it right, but now I need a back cover and a centerfold for Action Comics 53. I do have stuff to trade or cash, or well wishes or whatever might motivate you.

That came out awesome!
I need to do this as well. Mine has amateur resto I would love to get rid of.
Even when I had the whole run from 52 to 81 I was missing the 53! @Robot Man
I have a 53, it’s not great but it is whole. I have not been able to one across a 54 in my range and have only seen very few 56 for sale and I think all were incomplete. It is a tough run for sure!

If all collectibles are “worth what someone is willing to pay for it” then I would think just numbers of responses would have answered your question. I think the pool of potential buyers down the road is much bigger for a full book than a single page no matter how cool. Keys and classic covers do seem to have more long term appeal especially with the current tendency to slab the book where only the cover is visible. Just my

My copy of More Fun 52 finally back home. This book is a personal grail for me. When I bought it there was moderate amateur restoration and it was slabbed in a voldy slab as a 2.0. Now I know it is a lot more solid and I think looks a ton better. I will be sending it off to CGC soon for encapsulation but I would have never forgiven myself if I didn’t have it sent back to me to page through again. There is a huge difference between the before and after photos!

All right gang, time to get UGLY!
I still have twenty ugly books to work through, so let's get started and tear through them.
Star Spangled Comics 94
Coverless, CFO, but the Robin story (with Batman featured) is complete, as is the Manhunter story and the Tomahawk tale in the back.
Plenty of wear, couple pieces out RH edge P 1, one of which barely brushes the art.Nice reader for $5

I agree that it is a dumb stigma and I think these books kind of prove it. If Jon Berk can have one of the best collections ever and he was ok with a restored book or two then my meager collection can withstand a restored book or two. Especially when many of the services done to the book will actually extend the books life. Great books! GLWTS!
