  1. Thank you for the reply, Bomber-Bob. I actually have a Qualified label that says "NAME & SKETCH WRITTEN ON COVER IN PAINT." It is a painted blank cover that was done by the same artist. That is why I am curious. I agree that it really does not matter.
  2. I just noticed that one of my Qualified labels says "NAME & SKETCH WRITTEN ON COVER IN MARKER." It should say "NAME & SKETCH WRITTEN ON COVER IN PAINT." Is this a common error? I am honestly not very concerned about it. I am only curious. Is it possible that the reference is to the signature, and not to the sketch?
  3. Yes. His name is Jaxxon, and his first appearance was in Star Wars #8. He is an obscure character, and a fan favorite.
  4. Thank you all for your replies, and thank you for the links to other topics. SquareChaos, thank you for the link to the "New to OA Collecting Advice, Tips" topic. It is amazing. I am considering Bill Cole Comic Gards and Time-X-Tenders. I am also considering purchasing a Century Archival Art Storage Box to store my collection in. Thanks again. You have all been very helpful.
  5. This is very frustrating. The toploaders are perfect for durability and presentation. I am just concerned that the artwork will be affected over the years. Perhaps I am just being overprotective. I am considering replacing the toploaders with E. Gerber Archives and backing boards. I am also considering an Itoya Profolio. Any thoughts? Again, thank you in advance for any suggestions.
  6. Is it safe to store original comic art in toploaders? I have several pieces of original comic art that are currently being stored in toploaders. I have been doing some research, and toploaders do not appear to be archival and acid free. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  7. Very nice, Pirate. Congratulations on a beautiful piece.
  8. Does anyone plan on attending New York Wintercon this year? I plan on attending for Blade Runner and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century autographs. Please advise if you plan on attending, particularly if you have attended in the past. This will be my first time attending. Thanks in advance.
  9. I thought that the Gene Simmons solo album song "Radioactive" was released back in 1978. Oh well. My son and I both enjoyed Eternal Con today. I look forward to attending again next year.
  10. I recently saw a news report about the cost of parking there. There are a lot of people complaining about it. I may be skipping this event as well.
  11. That looks fantastic. I love that he included the Moon in the background.
  12. It may simply be a typographical error. What was the original grade of the comic book?
  13. Those are some incredible items, jbud73. Thank you for sharing them with us. Bernie Wrightson will surely be missed. May the Force be with him.
  14. I would not be surprised if that comic book received a grade of 9.6 due to very light spine stress lines to cover.
  15. Very cool. Congratulations on a fantastic piece of original comic art, NamesJay.
  16. That image reminds me of the opening scene of The Gorgon.
  17. I am not an authority on this topic, so I prefer to list my personal favorite comic art based on my personal Mount Rushmore of comic book artists. Batman #227 by Neal Adams, Swamp Thing #10 by Bernie Wrightson, Star Wars #1 by Howard Chaykin and The New 52 Justice League #1 by Jim Lee.
