  1. I absolutely love this Swamp Thing statue.
  2. Why would any collector be interested in buying a comic book in that unofficial holder? Is it simply being used for protection? I do not understand.
  3. The piece is a commissioned sketch. He also added texture to it. My concern is that coloring it will neglect the original pencil sketch that was done prior to inking it.
  4. Thank you for the reply, Chadwick. I appreciate your insight. I have noticed that you are particularly fond of black-and-white pages. As a matter of fact, I recently commented on your Conan the Barbarian #1. I totally agree that the black-and-white details are much more pronounced. I will ask Neal Adams if there are any other options available, but for now, I am planning on keeping it as is.
  5. Does anyone happen to know why Neal Adams will no longer be attending?
  6. Thank you for the replies. I agree that coloring the original comic art will certainly eradicate any aesthetic value that the piece currently has. It would, in fact, be colored by the original artist. The original artist was Neal Adams.
  7. I am curious about comic books with black-and-white pages. What is it about black-and-white pages that many collectors enjoy so much? I am curious about this topic because I own a piece of original comic art that I am considering having colored. I do not want to make the wrong decision about having it colored. Any advice on this matter would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for any replies.
  8. Absolutely beautiful new acquisitions, Chadwick. Congratulations.
  9. The crack on top of each holder runs in a vertical direction. The cracks are small. They do not run horizontally across the top of each holder.
  10. I typically refer to them as the original holder, old holder, original new holder and new holder. I can certainly understand any confusion that may result.
  11. That looks amazing. It is a perfect companion piece. Congratulations, Kohei. Well done.
  12. Was the item sold on eBay? If so, contact the Resolution Center. As far as you are concerned the buyer still has not paid.
  13. I agree. I have certainly gotten used to the Newton's rings. They do not bother me as much as they once did.
  14. It appears as if someone wrote on something with the comic book being placed underneath it, leaving impressions that lifted the ink onto the inside of the front cover. I would be concerned about the impressions.
  15. I like that it does not feel like I am posting a reply back in 1999.
  16. I recently received a reholdered Swamp Thing #1 from CGC. A small piece of the top-right corner of the cover was torn. Unfortunately, there is very little that can be done about it. Reholder Damage?
  17. That looks incredible. Congratulations, ivdyer.
  18. You are absolutely not being OCD about your expectations for a case that is without an eyesore. As collectors, we expect our collections to be without flaws. I have had three comic books returned to me in holders with stress cracks. I will not be returning them. It is simply not worth the hassle. I would also not bother to return the one that Kenners has posted an image of. It would not bother me that much, and it is simply not worth the hassle. Good luck, Kelmonster1. Stress Cracks?
