  1. Don't have many Charlton books but this one is my favorite.
  2. Wally West was my Flash too. And technically he has been a Flash longer than Barry Allen has. Of course, some of the old-timers on the board will go on about Jay Garrick. But that's one of the great things about the Flash is its legacy characters.
  3. The Return of Barry Allen written by Waid from an outline by Waid and Augustyn is one of the best Flash storlines ever. Helped cement Wally West as the Flash for a whole new generation.
  4. I thought maybe there was an advertisement for SC 8 after SC 4 hit it big but the big comic for June 1957 was apparently going to be this one...
  5. Yeah. That is what makes me think there is no advertising for it. It's not like AC1 where you are advertising for a new series. You can see in comics that came after SC4 (do to the Flash's success) that they do advertise later issues of re-imagined characters like GL in SC22.
  6. I have the extended version of Superman 2 recorded off TV from ABCs Saturday Night Movie. Theme song makes me super nostalgic.
  7. I tried to do a little research and read through DC 235, AC 220, Superman 108 and Batman 102 from September 1956 and there were no ads. You would think that if they were going to have an ad it would be in their 4 biggest circulated books. I think it's more a case of they didn't think it was going to be a hit and it's just another character so they didnt advertise.🤷‍♂️
  8. So Mr.Freeze, Titano, Mirror Master all debut in the same month. Cool. Does anyone know if Showcase 4 shows up as a solicit advertisement in any of the DC issues before its debut?
  9. Had some time to flip thru and read some of my newer pickups. Cool advertisement for our favorite hero now in his own book.
  10. IMHO, the endgame with this will be a slab with a numerical Grade, Title, Issue and Date with a QR code that will take you to CGCs site that will have ALL the graders notes, grading info and any other info (key issue info, artist, first appearance etc) locked behind a membership paywall.
  11. This may be a problem to some current members now. But in 6 Months new members will be like "Wow, I get access to the exclusive graders notes with my paid membership. Cool."
  12. This came up in my Amazon Prime Video suggestions after I had watched a few episodes of ComicBook Men (it's free to watch even if you only have a basic Prime subscription). Great Doc if you haven't seen it as it covers Gold thru Bronze age with some great content and interviews with Artists and Writers who are no longer with us.
  13. Since we're on the topic of across the board rise in collectibles. A hacked up T-206 Wagner just sold for 1.5 million. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/33809780/damaged-t206-honus-wagner-card-sells-1528066-auction
